About Ride 4 A Woman
Ride 4 a woman is a women's NGO that has 300 women members and empowers women by teaching them skills that they can use to earn a living. You can come and spend a day with the women and learn how to weave a simple basket, learn how to cook a traditional meal, or learn how to dig using a hoe. You can spend a whole day or just afew hours with the women. Its such a great experience and one we recommend highly while in bwindi.

This has been one of our favorite places in Africa. It takes some doing to get there, but the best place to stay when gorilla trekking in Buhoma, Uganda. The entire staff was helpful, gracious, and altogether pleasant. The craft workshop helps women who have experienced domestic abuse and gives them a living wage and the support they need. Dennis & Eveline even helped me obtain our trekking permits.

I came here for an informational tour and was blown away by all the amazing things they are doing for the community. The compound is beautiful, the handmade crafts beautifully crafted, and the womens' stories inspiring. Please make an effort to visit and support this gem of a place.

We loved visiting the women's center! They are doing amazing things and we had an incredible experience meeting some of the people who live in this community. They were so grateful for our visit and support from purchasing their beautiful handmade items. Best place to buy gifts to take home!!!

It is amazing what Eve and her team are doing to support these women! During my stay I visited them several times. My colleague, who is a professional dressmaker, showed them a new product (sanitary napkins) which make the life of the women so much easier and is durable washable and affordable! This product is especially made for the local consumption and not for the tourists! It was amazing to see how quickly the first group of 5 picked up the idea and made the first samples which they can keep and try out for themselves. They will be the best marketing supporters for their new product! I am so glad to have been part of the team to introduce them to this new and so useful product! We will continue to support them with some of the basic material! Visit them while you in the area! They produce their normal products not only for the tourists but you can find some of their goods also in the lodges nearby!
