About
Oceanus Scuba was created with the goal of putting diving back in the hands of divers, by supplying top level PADI training, related services around the needs of our clients, and then expand into areas less exposed by other Dive centers. We want to teach people to become self-reliant members of our dive community. It's not about cramming as many students through a course in as few days as possible. It is about sharing our passion for diving with people who never put a regulator in their mouths and have them come back with a smile on their face.

I would definately recommend Mike Reed and oceanus scuba. Always a pleasure to go out in the waters with oceanus scuba. very friendly and always willing to assist and help. To Mike Reed and team, all i can say is KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!!

Just finished 3 PADI qualifications (Rescue Diver, Emergency Oxygen Provider, Enriched Air Diver (NITROX)) and the EFR qualification with Oceanus (who are affilliated with Ollava Dive Shop in Simons Town, cool guys here too!).
Over 4 seperate days (due to the nature of my job I couldn't do it all in one go) my Instructor Johan together with the help of instructors Zac and Mikey have taught me all skills required to rescue yourself underwater, help other divers in need of help and assist or manage an emergency (whether diving related or anywhere else) and to dive with nitrox. Especially the Rescue Diver and EFR were really good fun as they take you through all kind of scenarios in a very realistic way! It was very educational but even more important we all had a lot of fun! The perfect balance between learning and laughing! Johan took all the time for me and even went through all the basics again that you learn in your Open Water and Advanced course and explained even more than required when I asked for it and anything else I wasn't sure of. Can HIGHLY RECOMMEND Oceanus for any PADI course or TECdiving or just for a fun dive as there are many great sights here for beginners like me or experts!

Excellent tuition by Mike - with a lot of attention to ensuring I extracted as much as possible from the experience.

Only a pleasure! I hope you'll be down our way again at some point so we can show you a little more of the Cape (just remember to bring the suit ;)

Diving with Oceanus is exceptional. For beginners or seasoned divers. I did my PADI open water with them and they really made it super special and exciting. If you are looking to get into diving then i highly recommend Oceanus. I am looking to further my diving and no doubt that I will be doing it with them. My instructor, Mike and one of his dive master students at the time were really fantastic. Really knowledgeable about all things scuba and just talking to them about it will get you into it. I specifically like their passion and enthusiasm about all things diving and especially marine conservation. It really opens your eyes to a whole new world and I think once you get involved with them you wont be able to use any other dive center.
The dive sites that they have on offer are really cool, from wreck dives to reef dives, kelp forests and diving with seals. Cape Towns diving is world class and these guys will show you why.

I have done over 30 dives as well as my PADI Rescue and Divemaster qualifications with Oceanus. I have dived all over Cape Town with other dive operations and I can say, without a doubt, that Oceanus is by far the best. Since my course Mike was the only person I would trust to teach my younger brother to dive. The team is professional and extremely knowledgeable about the local environment. Mike, particularly, is known as the shark whisperer for his ability to make them appear on demand. Nobody knows the False Bay area better. If you ask to see an octopus Mike will probably tell you he knows where one lives and also look at that Great White.
