We were picked up promptly by Agnes who explained the challenges with seeing the northern Lights and told us where they thought we had the best opportunity to see them - which was out on the peninsular towards Keflavik Airport.

We arrived around 21:45 and we did indeed see the lights, however ue to a low KP index (activity) they appeared more a thin strips. As the night went on and you got your "eye-in" you could see the lights moving slowly, coming and going. They were never particularly strong - but that's not the tour operators fault. We did see them - Yay! We were back in Reykjavik around 00:30.

A very professional, yet informal, day spent in the company of Egill Prunner and his other guests. Travelling around this beautiful National Park, with opportunities to walk around "national treasures". Fascinating waterfalls, a gentle climb (387 steps Egill....) to the summit of a volcano which erupted 3000-4000 years earlier, a visit to the beach and interesting monuments. Could the day get better....yes, a fabulous home-cooked meal in a farm property, where the chef/host was a most charming and generous lady who stated no-one would leave hungry (she was right). GREAT DAY, would recommend Egill and Reykjavik Fun Tours in a heartbeat. Thank you.

We went Nothern Lights hunting with Egill, reykjavikfuntours. Excellent trip! Egill is an experienced guide and photographer. Thanks to him, we have beautiful photos taken with the amazing northern lights. Egill is also very thoughtful and prepared Icelandic hot chocolate and doughnuts for us. Highly recommended!

I booked the Northern Lights near Reykjavic with Egill on my first night of a 14 day self driving tour of Iceland. Although Mother Nature did not bless us with the Aurora that night, I enjoyed the tour and the incredible starry night skies above Iceland.

Egill went above and beyond trying to find the lights while keeping us entertained with stories about his growing up in Iceland, elves, trolls, and other Icelandic folklore. Egill is a walking Icelandic encyclopedia and gave me some great tips for the rest of my 14 day self driving tour.

I was tempted to skip this tour because of the weather but I am so glad I didn’t! Our tour guide (sorry, can’t remember her name/s, but she is in one of my pics) was charming, enthusiastic, and amusing. She made the history of Iceland come alive for the little group.

Noticing on my phone that the weather forecast for Reykjavik was rainy, I needed to purchase a raincoat.
I typed Raincoats Reykjaavick on google maps to find the store.
The shop has many colors to choose from bold colors to soft colors.
I chose an olive green, one size bigger to fit over my coat. I was able to continue my daily long walks without worrying about feeling cold and wet.
