I attended a wedding at this winery. The ceremony was on the covered verandah and the reception was in the stable. The verandah had a beautiful view of the surrounding fields, trees, and young vines. It was also opened on the sides, so the cross breeze made the early evening summer temps very comfortable. The stable area was nicely adapted as an event space.... almost too-much so, as it didn't have a very rustic atmosphere. Aside from the light fixtures, it was pretty generic. The air conditioning didn't work, so it was pretty hot and uncomfortable. Aside from that and some other minor event management glitches, I would highly recommend this as a location for a special event. The setting is lovely and the wine is surprisingly good.

What an excellent way to hang out after work and enjoy the patio vibes in, what felt like, the middle of the woods. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They welcomed me as a solo guest where I sampled a flight of of wine for very reasonable prices and a souvenir wine glasses to accompany. I would highly recommend this location.

What a beautiful setting! We attended a very small wedding in the open air chapel (gorgeous)! The grounds are beautiful and in the spring, I bet they're stunning. The deck was a lovely place for a glass of wine to toast the newlyweds. The pinot noir was surprisingly good. Who knew Arkansas wine could be delicious ? I would highly recommend Sassafras or a glass of wine or an event.

We attended a rehearsal dinner outside at this location. Although neither of us sampled the wine, the area is beautiful and easily accommodated our group. It was very warm but they had fans to make it more comfortable. We heard there is a chapel but did not make the short walk to see it. Lots of signage on the roads directing you to this location.

Ours was a first time visit of 7 family members (all adults). The lunch (pizza) was good but not great. Wine tasting was better. The wine was OK but we did not buy anything. The surroundings and seating, however, were great for a laid back enjoyable time. We were not rushed and the staff were very helpful.

Our son was married here last month. We also hosted the rehearsal dinner at the winery and stayed in the lodge on the property. Everything was wonderful. Having an event during the pandemic added extra layers of stress, but the staff helped ease those concerns. The venue itself was charming and the property is beautiful; we could not have had a better atmosphere for this important celebration. From the planning to the event itself, the staff at Sassafras were friendly, professional, and very helpful. They provided us with a virtual tour so we could make informed decisions, made suggestions for catering, hosted a wine tasting prior to the event, and they delivered outstanding customer service during the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. I highly recommend it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere while visiting with my niece. There is no hustle or bustle here, very relaxing. Both Kristy (sp?) and Seth were perfect hosts. This is a great getaway and DRINK MORE WINE!!!
Thank You Sassafras for a lovely afternoon. I highly recommend visiting the Sassafras Winery.

Lovely place to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine. The grounds are just beautiful and you can walk around, and order a pizza. The pizza is pretty good! Unfortunately, the wine is just not the best. It's okay...I did the red tasting and the Malbec was the best.
I just wouldn't go there for exceptional wine, but I would definitely go back.

I wasn't sure whether to put a 3 or a 4 for this, but landed on a 4 because I believe it is a great addition to the area and hope that it doesn't get too busy. The good: it's great to have a place where you just go hang out and drink wine, of course! The setting is also nice. They are now bottling their own wine (but with grapes others have processed). We had the Cab. It was pretty good and reasonably priced. By the way, they also sell others' wine (some of which is very pricey). I like the food selection in the sense of cured meats, cheeses, bread/crackers, and some other little snacks. Traditional "go with wine" fare. But I do wish it was not just buying 8 oz packages of cheese that you can get at a local Harps (at a much higher price, of course). They have some local cheese, but even that is in large quantities. Perhaps they'll get enough business to justify someone putting together a real cheese and or charcuterie. Maybe they can contract with someone like Greenhouse Grille to do this in the future. On Fridays and Saturdays they appear to contract with Noodles for a main dish.

This is the bride to Nicole's review. Like Nicole said the venue is beautiful however it is not worth working with the owner and staff. To start with the largest driving factor in booking this venue over our second choice was because we were promised we could shoot a fireworks show. Our second choice was also beautiful but they could not shoot fireworks. We were even given a price break so we could shoot even more fireworks. A couple weeks before the wedding the owner texts me saying we can't do fireworks, she doesnt even call me. Says she is worried it is too dry even though there was rain in the forecast and it did rain the entire week up to the wedding. She said if I have any questions to call her which of course I did because our second choice wedding venue was $1700 cheaper and these fireworks were the reason Sassafrass even got our business! When I called her she stated she never said we could have fire works nor had they ever had them, both untrue. I reminded her not only had her employee confirmed working a wedding with fireworks but I had texts from the owner stating the specifics of the show requirements ie launch site, duration of the show, and required insurance. Also I had already paid for the fireworks and my fireworks contract was non refundable! From there she never committed to if we could or couldn't but luckily the fireworks guy felt bad about the situation so he did give us a full refund. Day of the wedding problems started right away, they were supposed to unlock the doors at 8am so we could begin decorating. I showed up at 8:30 and everyone was standing around outside and I couldn't even drop my stuff in the bridal suite. I had to leave my stuff on the porch and run. Apparently when they unlocked the bridal suite they saw my coffee creamer and called my bother in law irate I broke the rules brining outside alcohol on site. What I had really brought was Bailey's NON-ALCHOLIC dairy creamer for the coffee bar. Then we did get in a lot of trouble apparently for bringing a propane fire pit for Smores even though that was also approved! I have that in text too. There were also many other small annoyances like we ordered mango winearita but I guess they served grape or strawberry (my friends couldn't tell but loved it). No big deal, everyone enjoyed it but it was so much stress on me and my family the day of, it was very upsetting and I am thankful Nicole was able to handle some of the issues because I was so upset with it all. Also we requested and were promised hot water for a hot cocoa bar but nothing. My pictures are beautiful and the venue is beautiful but it was not worth the stress and frustration. Hopefully you only have one wedding so unless you have a wedding coordinator go somewhere else and ENJOY your wedding day.

We are voted best wedding venue by ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT GAZETTE READERS CHOICE CITISCAPES MAGAZINE READERS CHOICE CELEBRATE MAGAZINE BEST ARKANSAS WEDDING BY THE KNOT As stated before, we are sorry that the very most important thing about your wedding day was to have a large fireworks show. This was not permitted by the fire marshall due to a burn ban. We spoke with the man you purchased your fireworks from and he agreed to refund you 100%. You also had not purchased the required event insurance for a large fireworks show with alcohol and dancing. (we do not require event insurance normally but because you were insisting on a large fireworks event). So no refund was needed on your event insurance since you had not purchased it as required. We are sorry that in your opinion you did not have a marvelous beautiful wedding due to not having fireworks. And yes we did discount your wedding rate. We do many things right. 99.9% of our brides have an amazing experience and a lovely day. We wish you much happiness and many firework events in your future!
