Small restored village with 23 houses built in the mid to late 1800's. There are no activities and only one or two shops. It is really out of the way to get here and not really worth the time with so many other sites to see in the area.

There are few things to see at the village. One can walk around and admire the beautiful decorated facades of the Southern Bohemian dwellings lining both sides of the street square. Or visit a pottery store with colorful ceramics. We saw a museum entrance to one of the houses. The one large restaurant was closed due to private function, we saw another, smaller one, crowded. Since it was raining, we ended up having some hot rum tea and pastries at the local grocery store by the pond, they sell refreshments and snacks and I recommend sampling of the best “kolace” there. Super nice sales lady and fun locals. Public toilets are located next door, clean, cost 10Kc/ 0.50 euro. Toilets are also available by the parking area at the info center, there is an extremely rude young lady working there. We visited the stone formation Holasovicke Stonehenge, which is listed under Jankov and should be listed here. Ended up going to the next village recommended by the locals for lunch.

Visited in September when it's 30 Deg, not feeling hot as there are a lot of trees around. The village felt a bit sterile as it all looks new and well kept. Very nice place to stroll around and soak the environment. Few bars and restaurant are open in the village, but we didn't try any.

Came on a slightly rainy day. Were visitors around, but not too many. We appreciated the work that went in to restoring this village, giving the viewer a good impression of what the square looked like in the 18th-20th century. The individual buildings need signs describing when they were constructed and special features. We brought a print-out with us that we got on a website; without it, we would have been clueless. Would have been nice had we would have been able to enter some of the buildings. Worth a brief visit, especially when combined with Zlata Koruna, Cesky Budejovice and Hluboka nad Vltavou, as we did.
