Nice place for a walk. There's a pond, we rented a boat and had a romantic hour watching the beautiful park during sunset.

Great park to stroll through, there are art exhibits a lake with fountains and lots of wildlife, I enjoyed this park as it offered a break from our busy sightseeing schedule, we walked leisurely through and took in the beautiful trees, the little stream with koi carp and peacefulness. I think there would have been many a picnic had here, I think the kids would enjoy it too.

It was so heavily raining that JR to Furano suspended on 5 Jul 2018. As a result, the writer took a tour in Asahikawa. The writer walked to this park by about 8 minutes from Asahikawa JR station. This park was quiet and beautiful with swimming pool, garden and pool.

I visited the park in the late afternoon on 6 October 2019 (Sunday). It is generally a family friendly park, as there were small groups of families and individuals who were at the park doing a stroll, rowing a boat at the lake or simply walking their pets around the park, all giving a relaxed feel to the area.

It is not a big area so it can be covered easily under an hour. But in the early autumn season under the late afternoon sun, the park has several ideal photo taking spots.

I was not familiar with the public transport to get to the park, so instead took a walk from Asahikawa train station. The leisure walk to the park entrance via the Heiwa Street shopping park took around 20 minutes.

I was born and brought up in this town, and spent a lot of time in the park until I was a high school student. This is a fountain of philosophical thought and contemplation of life of Asahikawa citizen. Decades ago, the park was an isolated island in Ishikari River and the park pond was the remnant of a segment of the river.. The history of the city may tell you something in tranquility.

The park is not really hidden but the the vegetation insulated us from the city. It was a very peaceful stroll through park though it was a very cold morning. Would really like to come back in spring or summer to see the flowers.

The snow was thick but a pathway had been carved through the snow so you could still walk around. The pond was frozen so it was a beautiful winter wonderland.

Great duck pond, good assortment of trees, plenty of paths. Limited snow removal and poor drainage though, so not really a 4-season park. Recommended for birders.

There is a walking course of about 1km in circumference, and you can take a pleasant stroll among the trees.
There is also a library, a public hall, and a pond where you can row boats.
