Eating ramen on a cold day, you can't go wrong with that. Plenty of ramen shops to choose from. There are menus outside each shop, so it makes things easier for people. Inside, the sitting area is decent enough. Size wise, it's about the same for all shops. You are spoilt for choice as there are a variety of ramen and side dishes to choose from. It can be pretty packed if you were to come during peak hours especially lunch time. You can take a sneak peak at each shop if you want. Give it a try, if you love your ramen.

Visited this place in December and it is quite a distance from Asahikawa town. A short shop row which consist of total about 7 - 8 ramen shops with only allow the max capacity of 20 pax dine in space. Chosen one ramen shop and dine-in. Nothing special as most of the ramen shop can be found in city / town of Sapporo. You may consider to come here if you are with transport / have extra time in Asahikawa. However, the outlet shopping malls are more interesting than this place, which only within walking distance from the ramen village.

Visited this row of 8 ramen restaurants because of a train cancellation and had the extra day. It took us about 30 minutes by a public bus to reach. The row of wooden houses consist of 8 different brands of ramen. Each has a seating capacity of not more than 20 at most. Except a queue especially during lunch time when the tour buses unloaded their bus load of tourists.
Like most, we can only try 1 restaurant with the shortest queue and as expected the ramen tasted too. But we felt that there is no need to go all the way, 6-7km from the city has bus because all these 8 outlets have restaurant in the city.

The other attractions are the shopping outlets around the Ramen Village such as Uniqlo etc....

We got there a little early before the shops opened at 1100. We had a train to Biei to catch so didn't stay long. However, no big deal. The Village is just a cluster of ramen shops with a souvenir store. You can get the same in the city rather than travel all way here to eat ramen.

We thought this would be nice place for lunch but all it is one building in a shopping centre car park with 5-6 ramen restaurants in it.

Nothing special. The one we tried was fine. Some were busy and people lined up but I think it’s an over sell to call this Ramen Village. Go to any flagged ramen place to save the drive.

Enjoyed the ramen here. The ramen texture is prefect. Many stalls to check out. And Uniglo is just opposite in case you wish to shop.

Very quiet on Monday's evening when we were there. No English guidance for a highlight or featuring menu of each shop. Visitor need to research from internet or blindly pick up one from 10+ shops in this ramen venue.

Asahikawa Ramen Village offers 8 ramen outlets in one location. With the free parking space offered, it is a very good location where you may easily try out few of your favourite ramen outlets. One end of the shop row offers a good photo spot with a big bowl of ramen. It also offers free wifi - so the outlets closer to one end gets wifi access during visit.

We venture to this ramen village with a rental car. This location is probably difficult to assess with train/subway but certainly possible with taxi. With Uniqlo and other small shopping outlets nearby, we manage to squeeze lunch - shopping - dinner into a half day tour around Asahikawa Ramen Village.

It's good to note that some outlets do not serve dinner so you may want to time your visit accordingly.

The place is deliberated to supply Ramen from 10 different shops and in fact they are in competitions with each other and the results are judged by customers satisfaction. Only the top can stay, the last will be replaced by other Ramen shops!
All customers can become the judges!

All the shops are very famous especially in Hokkaido.

Tips: There is nothing else interesting except Ramen shops. Transportation to the area maybe an issue unless you have your own transportation means.
