このあたり何度か通っていましたが気がつきませんでした。
外観はコンクリートとブロックむき出しで素っ気ないですが
正式名「十七音の銀河系 西川徹郎文學館」の、
この十七音の銀河系に惹かれて入館しました。
芦別出身で高校の頃から頭角を現し季語を無視した新しい俳句を詠んだそうです。
プロレスが大好き、と言うのが記憶に残っています。

北海道唯一の詩歌文学館ということで行きましたが、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大防止のため休館で残念でした。まだいつ頃開館されるようになるかわからずとても残念なことです。
駅から買い物通りをまっすぐ７条通りまで行くとすぐ右折した場所にあります。

七条緑道に西川徹郎・森村誠一記念文学碑があり、すくそばに記念文學館があります。北海道で唯一の詩歌文學館で、2006年に開館したそうです。1947年生まれとはまだまだ若い方です。著書もたくさんあるようです。曜日や時間帯が合わなくて入館できませんでしたが、コンクリート造りの建物が気に入りました。

ＪＲ旭川駅から周辺を散策にて立ち寄りました。常盤公園に行く途中にありました。開館時間が遅く中には入りませんでした。入口に解説がありましたので、

芦別在住の俳人・西川徹郎氏の文学館です。独特な世界観の作品です。不定期に講演会が行われますが、有名な方がいらっしゃいます。西川徹郎氏は、浄土真宗のお寺の住職でもあります。冬期間は開館していません。訪問は5月から10月末くらいまでです。
