Great site to visit. It's free and excellent picture opportunities. A short walk from public transportation and great for the entire family. No more than 30 minutes and it's well spent.

Probably most tourist miss this island, because that morning we were the only ones. There were some local clam-pickers and men fishing, but no visitors. So very peaceful experience. Beautiful views, trees and old caves for meditation.

Again, as part of a Matsushima visit, walking across this bridge and wandering around on the walking trails is a peaceful and beautiful way to spend an hour or 2. Good for taking photos for the Bay and its islands.

If you are in Matsushima you definitly have to go to this island. It is a nice walk with a great selections of differnt trees and nice views of the bay. It is a very quite place, with not many people walking around.

This set of islands are linked by small red bridges and offers reasonable paths, caves, headstones, temples. There are lovely views over the bay from several of the lookout points. There's no charge and you can walk at the pace you want.
