We came here as part of our honeymoon. The day before we had visited Petra and seen Petra by night. We had very much looked forward to visiting a local family and thought it was a fabulous idea to make this possible. And we were not disappointed! Steph and her family are lovely, warm and sweet people. Her children are full of life and energy and love. The food is great and the company is better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with the family and kept it dear to our heart forever. I have their pictures in our honeymoon album and smile whenever I see them. Much love from the Netherlands, Atia and Andre (Mansoor)

We had an amazing experience with the local family learning to make bread and a full meal. Everyone laughed and had a great time including the family. After the meal we had a great tour of the town to visit local artisans. The translator was super helpful for the entire day and working with Stephanie was awesome. I highly recommend reserving this experience with Stephanie's company!

My wife had secretly been organizing with Steph (from a piece of Jordan) my 50th birthday surprise. I cannot believe what a totally amazing experience I had in Jordan. From the initial organisation of being picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel, to our tour around Amman and taken to amazing places to see and to eat we felt really looked after as if we were with friends. We had two nights of making & eating food with a local family. We then went on a three day horse ride across Dana with two fantastic guides, camping out with the stars we were looked after so well eating food cooked over the fire or in a sand oven. Following this we then visited Petra, one of the most amazing places in the world - simply jaw dropping. We traveled down the length of Jordan with our driver Hashim who took us to some really interesting places and such wonderful scenery. We had a jeep safari across Wadi Musa where they filmed 'Laurence of Arabia', the place is simple huge. Finally we stopped off at the Dead Sea for three days of luxury in a fantastic Hotel to relax from all the things we had done. I cannot recommend enough the work that Steph and her 'friends' at 'A Piece of Jordan' did for us organising such an amazing and memorable experience. We loved it so much we want to go back again this year. You should all go and experience such amazing culture, friendly people and such wonderful food.

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our trip and would definitely recommend booking with this company for a unique experience. We felt we were looked after from the moment we landed until the moment we arrived back to the airport, with smooth transfers and ease of changing plans to suit. Shuayb was an amazing guide in Petra - so knowledgeable & interesting - and we loved the way he let us discover the jewels of this wonderful ancient city; what an enriching experience! Then after a long day of hiking, our memories of eating Amneh's hot flatbread straight out of the oven with home-made olive oil and zaatar, in such a convivial family setting, will stay with us for a long time, not to mention the feast Amneh prepared for us afterwards. The next day was a perfect Indiana Jones-style adventure with hilarious camel and donkey rides, more beautiful hiking and exploring with Shuayb, and then a wonderful ride through the desert on Arabian horses & arriving to the campsite on horseback for more much-needed sweet sage tea. Everything was just perfect. The campsite was clean and well organised and a very enjoyable experience with the chance to meet other like-minded travellers. We would have loved another couple of days in Petra just to absorb it all properly, but the hike in Dana with Hamzeh was also fascinating and a great way to break up the journey to the Dead Sea. Mahmoud is an excellent driver and so courteous and we thoroughly recommend him. Thank you for all!

During our 10 day trip through Jordan for my parents' 45th anniversary, my husband and I wanted to dive into Jordanian culture by experiencing local life. Steph organised a cooking class for us with a part of her family, which was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Amneh, our host, was so hospitable and it was easy communicating with them, since their English was just perfect. She showed us how to prepare some traditional meals and had us helping her in various ways. When it was ready to eat, we sat down with her family, sharing stories and talking about so many things, which gave us a wonderful insight in Jordanian culture. Thanks Steph and Amneh, for making sure we could have this wonderful experience!
