There are numerous hikes to get above Petra, and I'm glad I found so many. The stairs are moderately steep, but if a donkey can do it, we can too! They are very well maintained as well. And the views make it all worth while. Petra itself can get quite busy, so not only do you get a great perspective... More

Long way to get here but lots to see on the journey. Anyway, don't be in a hurry. It's well worth the effort and the views are just stunning !

Trail starts just before the ampitheatre. You can take a 20 minute donkey ride up. It took us about 40 minutes to climb the 400 steps up. Beautiful scenery on the way up and overlooking Petra. At the altar, there is a way to get to an overlook above the Treasury. There is no signage showing the way. We tried... More

More amazing temples, the lion fountain, rock formations.... Down the other side be aware the path i not well sign posted but... More

The anciennitet City of Petra must be in the top 10 of plages to visit, at least once n a life time. The whole area is unbeliveble, and the first building you see Wien you Enter the area is the temple from the 3rd Indiana Jones movie. Just great

Not as popular as the other sites, this is very much worth the efforts of an upward hike. Great views into the city below you get a true sense as to how vast the monuments are and the size of Petra. It's not for the hard of walking or those suffering from a fear of heights. We did it on... More
