Quite a climb to get there. Most of it steps but at the very top a little scramble. Well worth the effort once there. A definite wow.

For my adult children who made it up to this place they said it was the highlight of their visit to Petra. The views are amazing and they spent some time just soaking in the views. They reported that not many people over 30 were...More

A must do for me. View from the top is well worth the climb and the back part of the al farasa trail is really beautiful and quite peaceful as not many make the effort.
We made it from bottom to top in under an hour. We were able to get a good view of the street of facades.

Suggest going early in the morning to beat the traffic. Be careful at the top, there are some places where one could step off and quickly regret it. Refreshments available at the top.
This is an absolute must and worth the nearly 2 hour donkey ride to the top. It would take several hours to do a hike. There are no markers on the way to tell you where to start climbing. There are several Bedouin families in...More
Best views of Petra, looking down into the valley below and the surrounding mountains. It will give you a true idea of just how big Petra really is. If you choose this location, be prepared for a physical hike. Pictures are part of the trail...More
