Nothing really prepares you for the view of the treasury - An incredible feat of engineering. You must take a decent camera.

As you slip through the dark narrow opening in the pinkish rock you are struck by the fabulous rock facade bathed in light. The first thought its "so like the photographs you see" and you know at once that its "the Treasury". You simply have to stand there and take in the sight! You immediately realize why its been declared one... More

What's truly incredible about the treasury is its sheer size and the fact it was carved entirely by hand, straight out of the rock. Many people don't realise that Petra is actually the city, which holds the heritage site and not the actual Treasury. After the mile walk through the heritage site you come to a very thing gap in... You won't be disappointed when you emerge from the Siq and get your first view of the Treasury. Photography, though, is not great in the morning when half the Treasury is in bright sunshine and half in shadow. Take some photos anyway, but realize that the light will be better in the afternoon! (Or perhaps better if you're there early... More

what can i say that others haven't? This is the most recognizable landmark in petra. All of the pictures you've seen are accurate, but the size of it is just immense in person. The place is busy during certain times of the year, so it can be hard to get a clean photograph. The walk through the canyon is great,... More

As part of a larger group, we visited Petra and were amazed by the beauty the place has to offer. There is also a museum near the entrance which gives you more information about the site. Prices of souvenirs were quite low at the places we shopped, that is compared to the shops outside. It is very hot at this... More

We were on a guided tour through the Canyon and to the Treasury. The additional information to appreciate the historical site is worth the price. We enjoyed our time in the Treasury area and exploring just beyond. Great prices in the local souvenir shops if you like to shop.

Amazing place. You may be fascinated by how people could built great houses in the mounts. You can learn about the nabatean culture from local people (many years b c).
