Lovely people here!

I popped in waiting for Petra by Night gate to open, and had a delightful conversation with the gentleman minding the shop. He offered lots of advice about visiting Petra at night -- watch your feet! It's bumpy in some areas.
The shot has lots of trinkets and items, and I returned the next morning to pick up some souvenirs.

My husband and I visited this shop in April 2017 under the recommendation of our tour guide. The prices seemed reasonable and the attendants were nice. Fast forward to July 15, 2017 when I get a call from Chase alerting me that there were two charges attempted on 7/15/17 in the amount of $7632 and $800+ dollars from this store!!! I vaguely recall that they were having problems with their card reader when we were there, but cannot recall exactly how we paid (if it finally went through or if they did an old school carbon copy of the credit card). Either way, something is amiss here. I would avoid. There are literally souvenir shops everywhere around Petra!

Over rated, over priced and lots of expired goods!

We just came to Petra from Dubai and i saved all my home decor shopping for this store based on the previous reviews. What a massive disappointment!

I went today, most of the sea salt goods were well passed their expiry date, despite the person working there advising us that they are still good to use, but cant really go explaining that to everyone i buy gifts for!

The painted plates- seriously $35- i got them much cheaper from athens and then was told they are from turkey!

Everything else looked old, rusty and well over priced. Let me tell you that i have not checked any other store, as i assumed i would only shop here- which i did, i got 3 plates- painted on stone and made in petra.

I get all the reviews, perhaps it was the wrong time, but with their advertisement of 40% off and then charging prices greater than what you would pay in athens or istanbul, dont waste your time!

If your one of those that needs something to show that you went to petra, use a camera, otherwise there was very little in this store that attracted my attention and i honestly felt it was over priced!

Shame, i have to leave petra with an empty bag, was really looking for those authentic home decor ornaments!

We met Moh'd Tarabulsi, the owner, in a moment of distress: we were lost. He helped us out and we found our way. While this is but another example of the wonderful Jordanian hospitality, we just want to add our thanks to Moh'd for his help, and the tea from the Mosa Spring :-) We had a great conversation the next day and a nice cup of tea.

We found the Mosa Spring Gift Shop to have a great variety of local crafts and beautiful Bedouin table squares. They were very warm and helpful I never felt pressured to purchase anything. We bought snacks for the hotel stay as well.
