... but how could you deny a 5 stars to Al Beidha? Its not as huge as Petra but you could feel the same atmosphere ... it’s and historical place and it’s worth spending there at least 1 hour to walk to the high view...More

This was our first experience of the nabatean civilization we did this before the main petra site. As we drove down the mountain viewing the the rose color rocks we were very excited to see little petra. There is no entry fee. You can park...More

Little Petra will give you an idea what to expect at Petra. The best part is hardly tourists flock here, you can get the best pictures and enjoy the olden era.

Little Petra was one of our favorite places here. First of all, you will probably be the only ones here. The tour groups miss it for the most part and most other people have no idea it's here. But there are a few tombs to...More

Advised by friends, we visited the Little Petra the day after Petra. It is much much smaller, but well worth the visit. You see a Treasury, dwellings, huge water cisterns, canyons, steps carved in the impressive stones and even a wall painting. You do not...More

Sadly I enjoyed this way more than the actual Petra site. I think due to no one being here. It was nice to be able to take people free pictures. Be able to take your time. There was no overwhelming amount of camels, horses, donkeys...More

Little Petra is well worth a visit to see the many dining rooms carved into the rock. Travellers and traders were fed and housed by the Nabateans. Much better concealed from invaders than Petra. Caravans of several hundred camels would stop here, and be watered...More

Not many people go to Little Petra because the main attraction is the place we have all heard of. We went there before visiting the main site and it was well worth it with constructions and caves. We were told that people may have started...More

4pm would be too late as it gets darker early in January. You may not be able to explore the area fully.

You don't need a guide for Little Petra it is only a couple of hundred metre long. There are locl guides just after the car park if you really want one. It is far to far to walk to Petra itself, took us 15 mins on the coach.
