Walking in the Huascaran National Park is fun and the paths we took were easy and not too technical. Great way to expend a couple of days surrounded by nature at it most breathtaking scenes . We were lucky and got good weather in January most of the time. The scenery was beautiful, with incredible colors in the lakes and... More

The scenery was incredible and it is a very pleasant 4 day trek. It may not be worth it in the wet season as we did not see the mountains clearly but still stunning. Make sure you check your tour agency carefully as the equipment we had was not good, we had wet sleeping bags and the tent leaked.

We visited Peru during the wet season (Jan-March) and were very lucky with the weather. We intend to return to Huaraz and have been recommended April (Spring) as the best time of year to visit. Laguna Llanganuco: we did a cheap no frills tour which took us to a couple of towns, including Yungay, and to the laguna. We had... More

Definitely worth a visit of a few days. Lots of things to see and do in the area and grand views of the Cordillera Blanca from almost everywhere. Day trips into the mountains are an option for those not wanting to take longer hiking trips and you can still get a feeling for the beautiful and isolated surroundings by just... More

The lake and glacier were beautiful. Tour companies in town pool their services so, at least during low season, it doesn't matter who you book with.

Beautiful views, awesome hikes, so much more to see and will be back. Snow capped peaks, turquoise lakes, cactus, tropical forest - all in the high Andes.

The Parque Nacional Huascaran is stunning. There are many different treks to do, both day and overnight and of varying difficulty, that take you to the some of the most beautiful places around. It is also relatively untouched by tourism which makes it that much better.

The park is absolutely beautiful. We took a car into the park and spent about 2 hours hiking around Lago Llaca. We easily could have spent more time hiking down below. A must see in you're in Huaraz!

A truly beautiful park, with awesome scenery, but what lets this park down, is the litter and used toilet paper everywhere, and i mean everywhere. You have to pay a park entrance fee, which is understandable, but there is no evidence as to where that money is going. Some eco-toilets or long drops at the main campsites would be a... More
