Nice place to go and chill/ fly kites

Went flying kites and for a picnic. Nice area, can get super crowded during holidays with a lot of traffic congestion so avoid going then.

A lovely stop off point for a photo on the way to Laguna 69. The views around are fabulous. The water is a beautiful turquoise colour. Very very pretty lake.

Absolutely beautiful! I actually visited this site twice. It is spectacular. My first visit, though we really didn't have enough time to enjoy it. 1 hour may seem like enough, but I would have liked more time to walk around the edge of the lake. Also, for pictures, earlier in the day in better, so ask at what time you... More

The color of the lakes is unbelievable! There is a hike along the gravel road and along the lake, that is recommended. It's easy and it follows the creek with rapids and small waterfalls. It's a stunning natural bromeliad garden when you walk through the Polylepis trees.

Enjoy a nice boat ride and the spectacular view from the shore. Then have some papa rellena, it's delicious. You can drive or take a walk to the next lake. It's a beautiful and quiet spot.

This is truly the most spectacular lake I have ever seen. The water simply sparkles with a gorgeous turquoise blue. The hike is relatively easy as some portions can be taken along the stretch of paved road. We packed a lunch and enjoyed eating near the lake. It was very peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend it. This lake alone... More

Beautiful lake with green colour, but it wasn`t the main objective of our trip. We spent there only a few minutes during our journey to hike to Lake 69.

Second time doing this trek as I loved it so much. Really easy, great way to aclimatise after spending the night at llanganuco mountain lodge right next to the park. A great mixture of ancient Inca trails, stunning lakes and huge mountains. If possible avoid staying in huaraz as its a 7 hour round trip!

My son and I along with another couple did a day trek of the Llanganuco Lakes with a guide from the Llanganuco Mountain Lodge. I'd been in Peru with my son for 5 weeks and found the altitudes challenging, however, this is a very easy trek and I found it to be of comparable beauty or maybe even nicer than... More

This is a very moderate hike along the lake sometimes on the old Inca trail. You can't believe the water color until you've seen it for yourself.
