Well excluding 2-3 bulgarians max all the rest made me feel so unwelcome. Their behaviour was so rude I dont think I ll ever visit bansko again. No proper service not at the restaurants and the whole village nor at the lifts and on the slopes....More
We hired a car via Ryanair (bought that extra insurance too so no hassle at car hire to buy it from them) and drove to Bansko 150km mostly on really good roads. The Apartment "Aparthotel Comfort" was very central to everything.we didn't use the car...More
It was our first winter vacation in mountains. We went to couple of companies to compare prices and to make a right choice with the instructor. We went for instructor Ina Kadaeva. Her experience being 12 years. First day I was able to go on...More
This is my first time at Bensko it is an excellent and friendly ski resort for beginners and of course for professionals.
In addition, the old town in Bensko is pretty and authentic.
There many hotels that are close to the ski resort. The main...More
The slopes are in good shape. Are well preserved and the lifts are all working according to weather status. For small kids is a kindergarten available and you can ski while the kid is playing and eating meal and takes ski lessons. For kids with...More
This resort is good for learning to ski as it's cheap for accommodation, food and lessons (although not as cheap as I was lead to believe). The queues for the gondola in the morning are absolutely horrendous which itself would put me off ever going...More

Do Not Ski BANSKO It is Dangerously Overcrowded (3 Replies)
Bansko is overcrowded and dangerous. Too many hotels. Not enough lifts. Never seen so many injuries. 2 hour queue for gondola every morning. Ridiculous. Forced to pay for taxi to get to top instead of waiting hours every day. DO NOT SKI BANSKO UNTIL THEY GET ANOTHER LIFT TO THE TOP.

There are many ways to avoid the Gondola queue in Bansko. Not sure you have skied in other European/American ski resorts during mid term holidays... You will be surprised to find even longer queues.
