Knowledgeable, informative guided visit to the town
May 2017 • Friends
We only had a very short visit to Gjirokaster, so arranged a guided tour with Uljana. She took us for a guided walk around the town, sharing her local knowledge and insight with us. As time was limited we saw the most important parts of the town. It would have been great to spend more time in the local area, particularly walking, as Uljana was keen for us to see more, but we had to leave.

Her enthusiasm was infectious. She was so passionate about Albania and her local area, she really wanted us to enjoy our time there and get the most from it.

Amazing walking tour to the mountains and ancient Antigonea
Apr 2017 • Friends
We wanted to go to Çajupi Mountain, but Uljana suggested we should go to Antigonea instead, as there were roadworks on the road to Çajupi. This was perfect for us: Antigonea offered ancient Greek history and spectacular mountain views. We spent a lovely afternoon walking in the area.
Uljana picked us up from at our hotel, and her fiancé drove us to Antigonea and back. On the way, we stopped to take photos and visited one of the famous bunkers.
We can highly recommend Uljana and this tour. It was the highlight of our stay in Albania.

A walk around Viroi lake close to Gjirokastra in Albania
Dec 2016 • Couples
My husband is Albanian and he was very proud to show me around the best areas of Albania. We stayed in Gjirokastra for a week. My favorite place was the cafe at the Viroi lake. It is located just 2 kilometers outside Gjirokastra on the road leading towards Tepelene. It is a brilliant place! The lake is beautiful and there is a small cafe on a tiny little island where you have to cross a wooden bridge to get to! Walking up and down the lake gives you a feeling of relaxation, peace and as if you are in paradise! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Visited Antigone and Hadrianopolis
Oct 2016 • Couples
We took a tour with our guide Besian ( phone 0692718264) to Antigone and Hadrianopolis. Besnian was hard to find but is often in the Tourist information House on the main square in Gjirikaster. We have included his phone number for this reason. He is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Antigone is a 300BC Greek City ruin high above the Drino Valley about 14km from Gjirokaster. The site was very isolated with magnificent views and very interesting ruins. The second site he took us to is a partially excavated Roman City on the river flats south of Gjirokaster. It was amazing to visit a site like this still being excavated. This tour was a highlight of our 7 day visit to Gjirokaster and we can recommend Besian highly as a guide.

Amazing adventure off the beaten track
Jul 2015 • Family
My husband and I and our two daughters ages 9 and 6 spent a wonderful afternoon touring with Nature&Joy. We told Uljana that we wanted to go for a hike in the beautiful countryside surrounding Gjirokaster but that we had no idea where to go. She took us to a very small village we never would have seen or found without her. There we went for a hike up a mountain overlooking the village. It was fantastic and the kids loved it so much that we decided to spend the next morning with Uljana going to another area near Gjirokaster, high up in the mountains to another place no guidebook mentions. On the drive back to the city we sang Car Karaoke.. our kids love Uljana! It was truly a highlight of our trip to Albania. Highly recommended.
