A highlight of any trip to southern Albania will be the visit to Butrint. The park hosts one of the best ancient sites in the Balkans, with a lovely little theater, baptistery, cathedral, and assorted other structures (including a Venetian tower and Ottoman fort). I...More

This is a fascinating site that allows one to get a clear sense of the role this site has played in nearly a dozen different cultures who have occupied it through the ages. There are clear contributions from pre-Hellenic Greece, Hellenic Greece, Early Roman Empire...More

This site is not easy to navigate and may be a little dangerous for wayward tots, but other than that it is an amazing site. These ruins show the historical evolution of this area from the Bronze Age up through the Greeks, the Romans, the...More

I imagine you'll have the opportunity to book on board your cruise. If not the tour companies will almost certainly be awaiting the ship at the port to make the most of the visiting tourists. Enjoy!
