Simply one of our all time favourite experiences in Ubud. Ayu’s warm welcome with a refreshing drink and an explanation of the family compound, tradition and legacy was very insightful. What a privilege it was to share her family pavilion style home. If you’ve never experienced a place like this, you should go just for the Balinese indoor/outdoor pavilion architecture. Century old stonework, framing walkways between pavilions, all set in a magical secret garden. Ayu’s detailed cooking instructions made the experience enjoyable and accessible. The precision clockwork logistics in balancing cooking with resting and eating during the class, ensured everyone could fully participate without discomfort. Most importantly, savoring the dishes we prepared in the dining pavilion was an absolute delight—authentic Balinese food with fresh herbs, spices, vegetables and proteins. We highly recommend Ayu's cooking classes to anyone looking for a very authentic cultural and culinary experience.

Brilliant from start to finish. Our family of five had a blast - the kids were a little reticent but were quickly engaged and participated with interest and excitement. The coordination of the class was remarkable - everything is carefully choreographed to maximise your time and enjoyment. The lunch at the end was perfect. A top cultural experience for our family!

This is an authentic, Balinese cooking experience. We went to the produce markets and learned so much about the herbs, spices and vegetables. Then we learned & created 8 delicious meals including delicious peanut satay sauce, Gado Gado, soup, stew and salads. All of this in the beautiful home of Ayu & Made. We loved the morning we spent with Ayu and her team. All staff worked hard to give us a great experience and a lovely Balinese meal at the end. I would definitely recommended this cooking class if you are in Ubud.

We were a group of 8 of and 10 including our drivers from Bali and Ibu Ahyu and Ibu Omang were simply amazing! I just want to say we really enjoyed ourselves , Ibu Omang’s teaching skills were so uniquely practical and earnest and thorough so we learned so much! And all the practical techniques and understanding of the dishes we were preparing. I truly recommend this class it’s very comprehensive!

INCREDIBLE!!! Amazing experience to do for anyone!!! Cooking in a beautiful Balinese home, began the day with drinks a small bite and learned about the Balinese culture. Throughout the cooking class we learned about all the different types of food, why they are used and tasted all the different spices. Made a beautiful 7 course meal with desert that was incredible. Very warm welcoming environment and only amazing things to say!!

Our cooking class was a highlight while in Bali! The family atmosphere and beautiful setting was inspiring to learn to cook new foods. Our family learned about Balinese ingredients and spices. We look forward to repeating these yummy dishes that we learned at home.

An absolutely wonderful cooking class. Beautiful home, lots of culture learnt and the food was divine! The team catered for my allergies with ease and made us feel very welcome at their home. Could not recommend more! Great night and worth every cent ☺️

This class was amazing. Such a fabulous host and wonderful recipes. We were collected from our hotel in Ubud and dropped back with a recipe book, and we cooked a feast! We also got to visit a home and understand more about the culture. Fabulous!

A great experience.. We learned about life in a typical Bali family compound as well as a market trip to see where the food comes from. Our hostess was warm and entertaining. It's well done as some of the longer or more time consuming tasks are done for you so you just get to do the fun bits like grinding chopping cooking and eating the 7 dish meal.
