This a wonderful museum to visit if you're in the Pocahontas area. It has a lot of African-American History from the early to mid-1900's. This is a very friendly place to visit with a lot of important history.

This isn't fancy, but food and service are always good. We really like the catfish, and they have a lunch buffet during the week.

The Herron Center is a museum and community center for the local African-American population and does a wonderful job of preserving and displaying the life of the community and the old building that was once their church, their school, and their gathering place.

I loved this center, it taught me about what my mother went through when she was little. I seen, read and touched the past! This center will always be in my heart!
