Weather ruined it a bit

A group of 6 wanted to do a 3 day hike to the peak, but plans were scuppered by the weather. The hiking itself was very enjoyable, and finished at the waterfall.

So my friend and I got a day off from our work near Phalombe. We decided to do a 9h hike to the first platform and take another way back passing the famous waterfall. There are also hikes only to the waterfall, that only take about 2h, or the big deal to the peak about 2 to 3 days. The... More

This is a real hike.. amazing animals, wildlife, food, people and views. Just amazing.. There are spots to hang out on the way up with natural flowing water ways and mini falls that you could use to freshen up and have some fun.. There are also reported ghost sightings in and around the mountain and people sometimes reportedly go missing... More

We have been twice, not to go on top but to hike around. Consider visiting Lujeri and the park. Run away from the guides at the entrance of the park. Get a guide at the park's office.

Mount Mulanje is very beautiful, hikes alternating between rough and steady. Paths are very well set. Mountain huts are great and well equiped with matresses en a fireplace. Local guides do a great job showing you around the place. We did a three day hike and i would love to go back for a 5-7 day hike!

Brought up and raised in the warm heart of Africa (Malawi) made me realize how awesome the mountains and natural sightseeing is. it is always a privilege to have a fabulous beautiful country where people are always happy even if they don't have basic needs. I strongly recommend people to visit out Mulanje Mountain because it gives you the best... More

I have a contribution to the mixed reviews about the guide Juma Tebulo. Positives: We had two days to spend in Mount Mulanje after a business visit. In order to save time and effort, I took advantage of the good reviews for the guide Juma here on Tripadvisor. The communication with him via email, whatsapp and on the phone was... More

Mulanje is a unique hiking area with holes for 1 day up to 7+ days. The view from the sapitwa summit is stunning and the path towards it is just so much fun! For people with basic/decent hiking experience it's an easy hike. Just take a deep breath and enjoy the obstacles. Guides also seem to be friendly and the... More

One of my favourite trips I've done so far. So untouched and beautiful. I went with a friend and we were blown away by the breathtaking views and the peace. We would spend all day walking through stunning landscapes bisected by clear streams. Our guides Reckson and Rober made our trip though. For a reasonable fee, their knowledge of the... More

Three day hike 29/30/31st October with 'spectacular' weather (see below) on beautiful Mulanje and had a fantastic time. Schedule was as follows: - arrived day before around 4pm (having noticed an afternoon storm on the mountain on drive from Blantyre) and booked a guide and porter at Likhubula Forest Office ($25 and $20 per day respectively) then stayed at Forest...
