    Great day out
Snorkeling trip to the islands with Global Scuba today. What an amazing experience watching turtles, wrasse, trigger fish, parrot fish, several types of angel fish among many others. Water was clear and of course very warm. Easy swimming for someone who would not rate themselves as the strongest swimmer. Would actually rate this as a better experience than the Maldives for swimming with turtles. Great guys on the boat, well equipped and really helpful. Such a brilliant trip, although it is the wrong time of year to land on the islands, a trip should not be missed as part of any visit to Oman.

    Beauty
Omg this has to be the most beautiful island with breathtaking views . We booked with Marmar tourism and the boat ride there was about 45 mins . At the first spot the boat waits while you jump on to do snorkelling with the turtles and you can see all the beautiful fish swim by . They give you the snorkelling equipment . Then you head to the beach where you can either sit and relax or do more snorkelling on the other side . There is also a cliff where you can climb and see some awesome views . Highly recommend

Amazing - well organised trip to a very special place
We were in very safe hands with a knowledgeable and friendly crew. We saw a group of around 10 turtles feeding and swimming up for air, totally unfazed by our presence. The captain shared his go pro footage with us which we will treasure. The second part took us to a beach / rock area with more snorkelling /walking and views of the most turquoise water I have ever seen. A wonderful day in a wonderful country - highly recommend. Thank you!

    Snorkeling experience
The nature was amazing. The Island was not allowed to visit at this time of summer because they wanted to protect the turtles but we swam and watched fish and turtles under water. Snorkeling was a new experience for me. If you want to see the beauty of Oman sea I recommend this Island.

Wonderful!
This place is a small treasure in Oman.
We spotted many sea turtles and a rich and incredible quantity of fish.
The team was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and we would love to come back soon.

If you love snorkeling or diving this is the place!

Beautiful location for Scuba Diving - spot whale sharks and turtles.
Went for a day trip with Elite Dive, rented all scuba gear from them and we did 2 dives in 2 different locations in Daymaniyat. Affordable rates and great instructors!

Daymaniyats are a collection of islands about an hour by boat from Seeb .It is possible to camp on Police Island, with a permit, at certain times of year. The snorkeling off the beach from police island is wonderful with some enormous corals. The little island "Sirah" in deep water was great for turtles. The Daymaniyats are one of my favourite places in the world.

Al Daymaniyat Islands are just only an hour sail from Muscat. Unbelievably beautiful sea life, like on the Discovery channel. Coral reefs and all shapes and colour of fish: blue and yellow and stripy and silver and small and huge. If you are lucky you can meet a whale shark, about 20m guy that eats plankton and rays graciously passing by. Turtles are residents there. This nature reserve is under UNESCO protection and season for camping is from November until May, however you can snorkel all year round. The best way to go there is with Daymaniat Shells (look at Facebook or google - they have loads of great photos). You have to call them and book in 2 weeks in advance as they are simply the best so in a high demand. If they have no places they will refer you to the other operators. You can message them on Facebook or call +968 9170 3117. Children under 6 yrs old are not allowed. The boat leaves at 09.00 from the marina in Al Mouj (Wave) and you will be back around 14.00 unless everyone wants to stay longer and visit almost unreal beautiful small white beach. For a price of OMR 25 (around £50) you will get more than half a day of amazing adventure. The captain will take you to the places you can spot sharks, rays, turtles, morenas (if lucky) and plentiful of the colorful fish. All you need to take is a sunscreen and hat, they will provide everything else i.e. food, drinks, equipment and towels. Unfortunately you might arrive to the piles of rubbish scattered all over the reef and island. Plastic bottles, plates, containers, food, sanitary towels and bits of toilet paper with all 50 shades of brown. This is due some people from the region leaving their rubbish behind and idiot tourists throwing plastic from the boats (well they claimed it was the wind). Please, spare some time to help the captain to clean. The turtles will love you for it. Please do not behave in the same manner. Don't drop anything, collect your rubbish in the plastic bags and take back to the port with you where you can dispose of them. Let the other enjoy this paradise too. Remember to take: snorkels (if you prefer your own ones), sunscreen, sunhats, swimming suits or bikinis. You won't be disappointed.

I've ben to Oman twelve times, and coming back agian and again. I'v seen almost everything what you can call as "must see" there: the Wadis, desert, corals, fortifications, Nizwa, Bahla, souks, oasis, the canyon, mountains ... But, trust me, this trip to the Islands is really the top! Why? First, as I'm not a diver, I appreciated that the enormous "aquariom is manly in very shallow waters, so that you can easy see everthing just snorkeling. You do not have to look for turtles, the cuttlefish, the angel fish, the table coral etc... They are looking for you! Limited acces to the islands! So that not many peaple there, actually you can really be alon there. If tired of snorkeling, you can go and just lay on the sun on the beautiful beaches. In the morning you can meet the turtles there again...And then, back to the see again! If you are patient you could meet a whale shark, a murena, rays and many others. It'is really worth the money (payed about 50 Eouros last time)

I was once told this was one of the world's top 10 dive sites. If not, it comes pretty close on a good day and, in terms of other areas of the immediate Gulf, it ranks highly. There are two ways out: Extra Divers at Sawadi Beach and Extra Divers from the Oman Dive Centre on the other side of Muscat. The latter is a far longer trip. I stay in Muscat and drive up to Sawadi - 40 minutes around the new bypass. Book in advance for diving here because package tourists have discovered Oman and turning up may lead to disappointment. There are basically three 'lines' of rocks. One was inhabited by some very lucky policemen, who I gather didn't like the job so they no longer live there! They clearly weren't divers. Alas, fishermen sometimes stay overnight on some islands such as Big Junn and the rubbish left behind is disgraceful. Divers need to go slowly and look carefully. Hidden in the corals and cracks are some really unusual creatures. Those looking for the 'big things' may be lucky. Turtles frequent the islands and various sorts of rays and sharks can be seen but they are not in the numbers they used to be thanks to the big drag nets a long way out. There can be currents and most dives are drift dives. No gloves are allowed to protect the corals. Snorkelers are usually accommodated but they might find the islands near the Sawadi Beach Resort more to their liking.

We had an amazing experience with Fahad and Lea at Daymaniyat Shells LLC out of the Al Mouj/The Wave Marina. From the first email contact with a speedy response time to stepping of the brand new boat back at the marina, everything was perfect. Farad was a wonderful captain and guide! The company provides clean towels, water and juices, snacks and drinks onboard as well as all new snorkel equipment!!! The islands were amazing and we got the chance to swim with a whale shark!! Great job, Fahad and Lea!!

Daymaniyat is simply breathtaking with its richness of underwater life and the clear-calm waters; absolutely perfect for snorkeling. I don't dive but I can imagine diving in Daymaniyat to be quite fantastic.

The trip was organised by local friends. We took a boat from the Seeb Marina and the trip took about 90 minutes. We saw some sea snakes and a lot of jellyfish on our there and back - not much else unfortunately.

Don't forget to bring water, food for a bit of picnic on the sand, sunscreen, maybe mats if you want to lie around on the beach. We spent at least 5 hours in Daymaniyat and that's hardly enough. We couldn't get enough of snorkeling and playing in the water.

I wish patrons would stop littering the beaches of Daymaniyat. It would be a shame for the waste to get into the waters if the beach is not cleaned more frequently. Please take your rubbish home, people! >:-(

These isolated islands offer great snorkeling and diving. They are protected, and trips there are limited and controlled by the department of the environment. Several days before your trip, your boat operator will need a list of names of people travelling to report to the ministry. All this is to protect the marine life and coral reefs of the islands and well worth it. Boat trips from the Muscat marina will take you 90 minutes to get there; it's a shorter trip from Seeb, but the trip from Muscat also allows you to see dolphins along the way. The trip can be a bit rough, so if you are at all susceptible to motion sickness, take some Dramamine before the trip. One of our group who had never been sick before was terribly sea sick.
