We also unexpectedly stumbled upon this nice and cozy wine shop in the heart of Vipava. Due to the fact that we wanted to do some wine tasting on a Sunday, we were really lucky and happy that they let us in, even earlier than normal. The host was so friendly and you can hear and feel the passion these family has for their wine. The focus is totally on quality and not on quantity, which you will immediately taste from the first sip onwards. Our favorite was definitely orange rebula from over 65 year old plants. Not the cheapest but for sure worth it. Totally looking forward to opening the bottles we've acquired from them.

Anja was SO welcoming, kind, and generous – we loved our tasting and stayed for an hour and a half. To be clear, this is in the tasting room right in the center of Vipava – they also have a family wine estate but the tasting there is closed for renovations right now. You can't miss the 'Wine Shop' sign if you're in the main square. When we walked by the next day she saw us and said hi, and we chatted for another half hour during which she offered another glass of wine! Can't believe she's doing it for free – this place definitely deserves lots of visitors and high praise. Our favorite wines were the white cuveé, the sparkling rosé, and the merlot (took home 2 bottles of that one!) Perfect for a pre-dinner tasting.

We were on our way to the tasting museum at the visitors centre and came across this place. The cellar door was full with a tasting so a sales manger gave us a private tasting in the courtyard. It was very pleasant! We bought some wine to take home with us! Very hospitable staff

We stumbled upon the Wipach tasting room in Vipava by accident and were happy surprised. The owners opened it up for us early and gave us a wine tasting of 8 wines for free. All the wines were delicious, especially the wine blend, Rose, and reds. Great stop and very friendly staff.
