About
Since 1935 when the Povh family planted their first vines on hills above Vipava valley, our long tradition of wine making began. It’s modern form sprung to life in 1985 when our father Stanko took over the family vineyards and began paving the way towards brand recognition and highest quality wine of geographic origin. Our family winery and wine cellars are hidden before the sun and wind at Goče village. They were carefully built from the local stone and featuring vaulted ceilings.

Great experience

Miha was super friendly and very passionate and honest about his wines. Every taste was unique. The Pinela was great and so was the Rebula orange wine. You should definitely go.

A trip to Vina Povh is recommended! Nice guy who knows a lot about wines. Besides that he knows his English. Good tour arround the wine cellars with some good samples. Really enjoyed our afternoon at Vina Povh!

Very pleasant atmosfere, elaborate visit, great host, somewhat simple wines
Aug 2017 • Couples
We had a great visit, felt very welcome and had a relaxed and informative time with the young winemaker, of the no frills-type. Really took the time for us. He aims at making fresh, young wines so they are a little 'simpler' tham some of the other vineyards. No food is provided but the tasting is cheap.

Wine tasting in a romantic cellar
Aug 2017
Thanks to Micha the young and engaged son of the owner of the vineyard presented us his wines first in the small and simple wine cellar at his house. Then we walked through the village with some explanations and came to an old romanstyle wine cellar where he can store the red wines in wooden barrels. With candle in a familiar athmosphere we enjoyed the good wines. A young men at the beginning of a career which will hopefully also help his village to again grow and become full of life as it has been in the times of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Zelen, Pinela, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and others really gave joy and happiness to our group of 14 wine tasting friends.
Micha was so happy to host us and Looks forward to many new guests!

Family-owned winery. Great wine!
Jul 2017 • Couples
The Vipava Valley is in the heart of Slovenian wine country. We stayed in the area for 5 days, enjoying the hiking, food, and touring wineries.

The Vina Povh was our favorite winery. We tried 7 wines in a fun and relaxed setting. The owners take great pride in their wines and it shows in the quality of their wines.

Make sure you try some of the local white varieties , such as the Pinela. Our favorite wines were the reds. We wish we could mail a case of the Cabernet and Merlot back to the States. We highly recommend this winery!
