We have camped and fished at the lake several times. The campground is nice and level with room for trailers and tents. The bathhouse was clean and the showers had good pressure. They have nice little water park for the kids. You cannot swim in the lake but you can fish with a small marina available. They have beautiful cabins... More

Yes it's true. This is a very well maintained park. But can someone please explain why you cannot go swimming at the day use area? I know there is a swimming pool. But is there something bad with the water? Can people not be trusted to not drown? Must I just stay hot and sweaty while cooking my hot dog?

The lake at Lake Fort Smith State Park is owned by the city of Fort Smith and is their water supply. Their city ordinances prohibit swimming and any form of bodily contact with the water. More

I have stayed at several campsites. This one is the best. This time I had along with me five first time campers. For days they talked about how nice the place is. We stayed in a tent. Two of them will be buying a tent.. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked. The trash was picked up daily. The... More

Spent 3 nights along with 2 other couples in our 5th wheel campers. We travel and camp together a lot and all of us were very impressed with the beauty of the park. It is nestled in a heavily wooded area, the campsites are very well maintained and have large concrete slabs, the bath houses are extremely clean, there are... More

Another man made lake this unites a beautiful lake with super scenery. With a large lake there is plenty to do and there are cabins to rent and camping spots. The marina hosts a variety of craft for hire at various prices. We rented the smallest which was large for 2 but would easily fit more. It was called a... More

I almost don't want to write this review because I want to keep lake fort smith state park to myself! We rented a 2 bedroom cabin for a November weekend and it was perfect. The cabins are clean, beautiful, and well laid out. We carried in all our food for the weekend and the kitchen was well equipped. We would... More

This 'new' park looks new. The visitors center is beautiful and has good exhibits and a decent store for campers, the RV campsites are all in great repair and the new lodges and cabins are brand new. On the flip side, the day use area is also new - little to no shade due to immature trees. Still, it is... More

I Love camping here. It is convenient, beautiful and very nice. I wish they had more camp sites available making it easier to camp often. I called today but nothing is available campsites or cabins for next week. The camp sites are very nice with water, sewer and electric available. Nice swimming pool area. Easy boat launch available. Good lake... More

It is often said that some of the best things in life are in our own back yards. We have lived in this area for many years. As we have traveled to all 50 states (many of them multiple times) looking for the most beautiful places in which to spend time and relax, we have simply overlooked one of the... More

This is our fourth or fifth stay in the cabins at Lake Fort Smith State Park. The staff at the office where you check in is always friendly and welcoming. We stay in a two bedroom cabin. The cabins have everything you need. They keep the cabins extremely clean. During this time of year the park is quiet. If the... More
