- Donna M64 contributionsCan't wait to ride wirh them again! We had a GREAT ride today at OK Trading Post. It was fun from when we drove up to their interesting place and met Autumn, the owners experienced horsewoman daughter, to when we reluctantly left our new friends sitting on the porch saying "Y'all come back!" The place is full of interesting things, the people are totally invested in their horses and what they are doing, and the ride up and down the mountain ridges was like something out of a movie! Gentle, dependable, well trained horses made the time in the saddle pleasant and easy. Shey was a great guide with a lifetime of experience with horses and people! The trails were beautiful in their October colors. Our two and a half hour ride was everything we had hoped for and more. My husband and I have done trail rides like this in many different places across the country and this one gets 5 stars!Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 25, 2023
- Mark CBatesville, Mississippi33 contributionsGreat riding for the familyMy daughter wanted to go riding while we were vacationing in Mountain View. I was reluctant since I’m not a rider. We chose the 1.5 hour ride (45 min too long for my back side). People were very friendly and gave me a good horse after I told them I wasn’t a rider. We went through, up and down trails in the woods. Even though I was nervous the whole time, it was relaxing. Thank God the horse knew the trails so well and didn’t rely on me to do anything because we would’ve been in trouble. My horse was Marlboro and I think he was getting tired of me messing up. I apologized to him because I also didn’t want to be messing him up. After we got back to the stables, I apologized again to Marlboro for having to carry my fat self up and down them hills. He deserved a much needed vacation after that trip. I would recommend some bug spray since you will be in the woods. Everyone had a great time.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 20, 2024
- Awesome_AndiTulsa, Oklahoma1 contributionExcellent trail ride! The horses were fantastic even with first time riders like myself! Our guide was very kind, knowledgeable and held a fantastic conversation. The 2 hour trail ride was absolutely beautiful! Paired with such even tempered horses and the ride was excellent. I can't wait to go back and do this again!Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 25, 2024

The booking experience was easy, we made a phone call a few days in advance and got in when we wanted to.
When we arrived I found the bathroom, which is just an outhouse with a toilet seat and a half barrel/bucket below it, so not really kid-friendly or cleanliness-friendly, so be ready for that.
But here's where they lost me; they started bringing out the horses with the blankets and one of the horses had a CONFEDERATE FLAG blanket!!! No thank you. This is not welcoming at all. If I hadn't been with others where I didn't feel I could speak up, I would have not gone through with the trail ride. I would have refused that horse if given that horse, though.
The guy who sold us tickets also talked about how he wasn't vaccinated because he's afraid of a microchip.
The trail ride was great. The guide was very knowledgeable and very helpful.
There is a sign about tips at the end of the trail ride, so I'd be ready to do that.
They did have a deer there that they rescued and would have died if they hadn't, so that's nice of them.

The scenery was beautiful and the horses were healthy, Our guide was named Chief, he really added to the experience. We enjoyed it so much that we are going to book a camping trip with them in November.
If it has been a while since you have ridden horses, like it had been for us, let me suggest you bring a pad for your saddle. We took the half day ride it was quite sore towards the end!

What a great experience! Grandfather and three grands for a trail ride through the forrest. Temps in the mid 90’s but cool in the woods. Shay was the perfect guide. She catered to those kids and made them feel special. Would recommend OK Trading Post for a ride. Check out their store that is well stocked with everything horse related. Will definitely ride with them again!

We had a great experience. The guide was awesome. The entire place was exactly what we expected. The horses were well cared for and very well trained. There were 7 of us ranging from 47 years old to 11 years old. We all had an amazing experience.

My daughter and I were heading to Blanchard to swim for the day and we noticed this place so we stopped. She has always loved horses but, we do not own them or have much experience with them so, I was very pleased that the horses were well trained and easy to ride for inexperienced riders. They do have a weight limit posted that you must not be over 250lbs. (Just fyi) This was a fun outing!!

This is the first time we did anything like this. My 5 year old went with me and my 6 year old went with my wife. My 73 yo dad also went and of course got the horse that was most stubborn. Horses were easy to handle and behaved pretty well. I was a little nervous going on the beginning path near the cliff, but it went ok and the horse knew the way.

My husband, daughter 17 yrs, and myself had a wonderful time on the overnight horseback riding/primitive tent camping. We have been on trail rides before, but this one was at least twice as long. We loved it. Tyler our guide was a good cook and conversationalist at the camp site. It's hard to talk on the ride because of the sound of the hoofs on the rocks. So we just enjoyed the beautiful sights. The river which was more like a small creek when we went was great for walking up or down on the river rock. It is a nice wading creek, a little to small for fishing or swimming (Aug 2022) . I don't know if that changes in the spring/early summer. Once you get to camp you can either go adventuring or sit by the campfire. There are not yard games or organized activities planned, which is Exactly What We Wanted! It was such a memorable time for us. Thank you OK Trading Post.

I would like to bring my almost 6 yo to ride horses, will she be too young? And is there a weight limit?

Lots of kids of various ages and sizes were riding while we were there, didn't seem to be any issues they couldn't handle.

Prices vary depending on how long you want to ride. 30 minutes-overnight. We did the one hour ride which was $12 each. Rides start every half hour. I recommend calling ahead and setting up a time so they can have the horses ready for you. Fascinating guides and an adorable shop there also. :)
