I drove my 89 years young mom around the trail looking at the quilts. So grateful that folks are doing this. Gave us a chance to spend quality time together while seeing parts of Stone county that we’d never been to.

The trail is new to the area, so new quilts will continue to be added. Most of the quilts can be seen from Highways 5-9-14 which all run through Mountain View, however there are a few located off the highway and close in. All can be viewed from the road, but the land owners have given permission to have a closer look. Most are 8'x8' and they are all quilt blocks, not an entire quilt, which is very confusing since the terminology misrepresents them. This will satisfy anyone who loves history, art, quilts, barns, and/or scenic driving.

This was a surprise as it was not part of our planned trip. We had time so we stopped to visit and we were not disappointed. If you like quilts or just appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into them, then make this part of your visit up here.

Is there a map with locations of the barn quilt blocks?
