Visited the park at the end of October. It is so quiet and peaceful. We rented a cabin and just sat out on the back porch. Wind was blowing and I feel asleep. Even though the park was full, you couldn't hear anybody. The cabin...More

Spent an afternoon at the lodge and the park in December. The landscape is amazing and seeing the inside of the lodge was worth the trip by itself. The restaurant is an arts and crafts masterpiece, and the reuben is really good as well. I'm...More

A perfect place for waterfalls' lovers. A nice hike to a wonderful view. True nature's magic. Not too crowded. Peace and tranquility should be the end game. The lodge is nice and the restaurant offers food with healthy choices. A very quaint place!! Highly recommend....

We love Petit Jean!! Have been there many times. True peace and serenity! The lodge rooms are a little small, good for a night or two, but the cabins are great! Cabin 14 and 15 have the best view. Cabins 20-31 have no view but...More

Normally mid 60 for a high to 42 for a low. If you've never been here before try to check out the subiacco monastery, cool architecture and history.

Petit Jean cabins do not have fire pits. The housekeeping cabins do have grills outside, but not fire pits.

Need advice on where to go from Memphis (3 Replies)
I want to take a weekend trip within the next month or two and I live in Memphis. I would like a state park with maybe some trails near a creek. I was thinking of Petit Jean State Park but it's nearly 4 hours from me. Is there anything 2-2.5 hrs from Memphis that would be nice to visit for a weekend? I need some place that has lodging and I'm traveling with 3 boys, (7, 5, 2 yrs).

Thank you for suggesting that place. It's very beautiful! I think we might give it a try sometime in the summer.

Nice stop between Hot Springs & Branson (7 Replies)
Good evening - My husband and I are heading to Branson in August this year with our almost 3 year old. We will be staying a night in Hot Springs on the way to Branson. The day we leave Hot Springs we are looking for a nice place to stop on the way to Branson. Any scenic towns? Any recommended places to eat? We like hiking as well so wasn't sure about a short hike or cave along the way that might be interesting. We are staying at Petit Jean State Park for a couple of nights on a the way...More

Arkansas trip route suggestions (4 Replies)
Hello we are planning to visit Arkansas next month, we just decided to take time off and hit the road. 2 places we definitely wanted to visit were Devils Den State Park and Petit Jean State Park. So the only nights available for a cabin/ lodge this last minute trip was Wednesday/Thursday night at Devils Den and Sunday/Monday night at Petit Jean so that is the loop we will make, we have plans of floating the Buffalo River on Saturday, still trying to find accommodations near after float trip...More

Oh and we are easy, we like all activities! We like hiking, we like relaxing, we love sight seeing, we will go to museums, zoos, roller coaster parks. We are into trying any activity but we are not super athletic just average people. It is myself, 42 my husband 43 and son, 11yrs old. Eureka Springs looks like a neat town but just wondering if it’s worth heading up an extra hour?
