After a nice walk along a paved trail we stopped at the Lodge for lunch and were very impressed. We had an incredible view into a ravine surrounded by natural beauty. The Lodge is just what it sounds like, a log cabin lodge, comfortable and cozy. Everything was great, the food, the ambiance and the service. The Ruben and fries were... More

Always a pleasure to go to. Been going here my whole life, and to me it never gets old. Cedar falls overlook is accessible to almost anyone. It's beautiful year round but its the most beautiful in the Fall and I love the trails in the springtime. If you want an easy walk or one that can be accessed even... More

There are some amazing views and trails at Petit Jean State Park. Take in the views, the restaurant, and the time you have here and enjoy the outdoors.

Petit Jean Park is the oldest state park in Arkansas. It is truly a jewel for the state park system. We made a day trip to take advantage of two guided tours offered on Saturday. Our first was the bear cave tour at 9:30 a.m. This is a great 1/2 mile walk through the bear cave rocks. Matt was a... More

Bias confession - I grew up in the natural beauty of the Arkansas River Valley. I hiked Petit Jean every weekend with friends, picnicked it with aunties and cousins, and honeymooned there with my dearly beloved. We continued the tradition even after moving out of state, flying back to stay in Mather Lodge with our kiddos, and to hike and... More

Campground is very spacious and clean. There is a lake for canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. There are trails of all lengths and difficulties for all ages. If camping isn't your thing, there is a lodge and cabins for rent also. The lodge also has a restaurant. Make sure you bring your food and everything else cause the closest town... More

We'd planned this trip over Christmas to enjoy nature, do some hiking and see the "beautiful" waterfall. I thought I'd done my research fairly well but this place just didn't do it for us. Not the State Park's fault...but this December everything was dead and lackluster. The waterfall was a major disappointment. The most uncomfortable and unpleasant portion of our... More

I've been to Petit Jean State Park dozens of times and have my favorite things to do. First, spend the money to stay in the housekeeping cabins. While it's frowned upon, a handful of peanuts at your back door often results in a visit from the band of formerly wild raccoons that wander about at night. Of course most people... More

This was our first trip to Petit Jean State Park and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in one of the duplex cabins and it was very comfortable, well-maintained and close to the hiking trails. My husband hiked several of the trails and I hiked a couple of them and found the trails to be very well marked with... More
