About
Bengtson Pumpkin Farm is the premier fall festival and Pumpkin Patch in the Chicago land area. Established in 1980 the Bengtson family was selling their pumpkin crop to the public from the family farm. Growing for over 40 years, the farm has come to include one of a kind attractions, like our Tractor Town Adventure Ride that have families returning year after year. Our farm has food options that are most easily described as award winning, not your typical festival food. Unlike many other farms and festivals these days Bengtson's admission includes unlimited access to all the rides and activities. One low price for an entire day of fun. There are many options when it comes to pumpkin patches, but Bengtson's is the only choice. Our farm is the highest rated and most reviewed farm you will find. all paved walkways so even the newest members of the family can enjoy the farm from the stroller. Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm is an experience like no other.

After reading reviews here, decided 2 find a different pumpkin patch and discovered johansen farms in bolingbrook, il. It's free to go into their store, there is a picture room that is set up for social distancing, u can also buy beautiful mums and pumpkins, along with the bakery and their delicious, apple cider donuts (that r made on site all throughout the day). In You do have to pay for the zoo but is reasonable, theres a variety of animals that u can feed. And lots of things for the kids to do. Masks ARE required and enforced, hand sanitizer stations all throughout the zoo, and social distancing sign and stickers. My family had a great time. This place is covid safe as far as we r concerned. Felt safe bringing my kids and my mom there. So if u are looking for a covid safe place, I highly recommend Johansen Farms.

We spent $25/person on a Saturday, But it was absolutely horribly crowded with long waits for every single thing, even for snacks and food. We go here every year, and this was the worst this time. Bring your own toilet paper for bathrooms, and don’t even bother wearing a mask if you come to this one.

Bengtson’s is a nice place to go to but not during COVID. They are definitely just piling people in without being conscious of the pandemic. There are no time slots when booking tickets so there is no true way to monitor the amount of people coming. Went on October 11, 2020 and it was so crowded you could barely get on things. People were not respecting the markings on the floor for lines or some were not wearing masks. Definitely a COVID nightmare!!!

This is an annual trip for the family (4 adults, 2 teenagers, 4 littles) however, this year was a bit disappointing. First, the good things: love purchasing tickets online, love the pig races, roasted corn, the coffee shop (by the wagon ride) and overall ambience. Kudos to the workers this past Saturday. That place was packed and they were serving everyone they could as fast as they could with smiles on their faces! Not only that, the workers who were coming around and cleaning tables, the grounds, etc.. were putting in overtime and were upbeat as well.

Here are the negatives: cap how many people can enter (try a reservation system and have people buy in advance so you know how many people are coming prior) so you don’t wait 45 minutes to ride the rides or 45 minutes for food (after you stood in line for 30 minutes to order). I understand it’s a business and the goal is to make money, however, with the space provided for activities/rides and the number of people in there this past Saturday for example, frustration set in for parents, kids, etc… Not having people smoke inside would be excellent as well. Standing in lines with kids while the people in front of you are puffing away is not something people should have to battle with. In the petting zoo, many of the animals had eaten too much and were not interested in eating anymore. Having more lights around the place for when the sun sets would be beneficial, actual bathrooms for little kids would be an excellent idea, changing tables, and places with more seating.

It’s been an annual trip and I am hoping some changes are made for next year. We do love it there (three kids) and want to keep coming but the cost is starting to outweigh the positives.

We were terribly disappointed and ended up leaving after doing almost nothing. There was no effort to follow health guidelines for social distancing and mask wearing. Lines were not spaced, people were being seated on rides right next to each other, nothing was being sanitized and crowds of people were gathering all over the place to see animals, etc.

I would have expected better signage, more markers for where to stand in line, spacing on rides, and sanitizing efforts between each ride, etc. I have been to other pumpkin farms and facilities this fall that are doing a MUCH better job of managing the COVID risk for its patrons. We drove more than an hour to get there, and spent the money for four of us to get in, and left feeling frustrated, angry and sad (especially my girls).

I am writing in hopes that you will make an effort to improve your process, as the way it is being run now would certainly be considered out of bounds of the guidelines for social gatherings.

Outside of COVID, I'm sure it's a wonderful place where lots of fun can be had by kids of all ages.

We would not recommend anyone go here this year if you are concerned at all about COVID. There was no enforcement of mask wearing and no ability to social distance because the admissions were not limited in any way. It was wall to wall people with more than half not wearing masks. This is a huge place with wonderful attractions but the complete lack of precautions is a big disappointment. They are only interested in making as much money as possible with no concern for this pandemic. They should honestly be shut down if they can’t do better. Stay away.

This place is the cutest however I really didn’t expect it to be sooooooo crowded! There was a sea of people! You had to purchase your tickets online and they said there was only a limited amount. They were 26 per person. I purchased 8 tickets but I felt kinda of ripped off because there was an insanely amount of people we were not able to go on any rides or really see anything I was looking forward to this For a long time with my new granddaughter and it was a bust unforunately

The place did not make people follow the rules to wear a mask all the time, it was very crowded. We where willing pay the over price thinking that it would have a limit capacity of people, but they did not. There is no social distance, people did not pay attention to the paw prints on the floor and the workers did not make sure people follow the rules. At the entrance they should say if you don't have a mask they are not allowed to enter especially when it is overcrowded. They put everyone at risk. Authorities should look it into it. Very irresponsible on their behalf.

We came to the pumpkin farm as scheduled and it was EXTREMELY packed. There was no social distancing and I felt like we were at Six Flags how packed it was. The lines to wait for rides were long we stood in most lines for 1 to 2 hrs. It was a little too much and I couldnt treat my children as I wanted due to this. We couldn't enjoy the full experience didn't get a chance to do the haystack ride or tractor rides. Its a nice place but it was too much! I came with my children 5mo to 7 yrs old and they were exhausted and aggravated at waiting. I also experienced a high amount of people standing over us. The majority of these people didn't wear face mask. I am disappointed because none of your workers who operated the equiptment wore face coverings. This is a health risk during the pandemic. We all want out sometime due to the Covid-19 shut in, but we all must participate in this together to keep each other safe. There wasnt much sanitizer. The pig race was packed. People could almost sit on each others laps. Its a beautiful place but no enjoyment! Would love to come again but I wouldnt recommend it!

We thought the increase in ticket prices on the weekend would limit crowds - we were wrong. This place was PACKED, socially distancing was virtually impossible and masks were not enforced by the facility which was concerning. We had a 6 month old and 2 yr old in toe, we took a few photo ops and decided to quickly exit. We won’t be returning. There are better options out there that are more cost effective, and allow you to purchase tickets for a specific time to allow for social distancing.

I feel like Bengtson’s is putting $$$ first instead of health and state mandates.
