About
Bengtson Pumpkin Farm is the premier fall festival and Pumpkin Patch in the Chicago land area. Established in 1980 the Bengtson family was selling their pumpkin crop to the public from the family farm. Over the past 40 years the farm has come to include one of a kind attractions that have families returning year after year. Our farm has food options that are most easily described as award winning, not your typical festival food. Unlike many other farms and festivals these days Bengtson's admission includes unlimited access to all the rides and activities. One low price for an entire day of fun. There are many options when it comes to pumpkin patches, but Bengtson's is the only choice. Our farm is the highest rated and most reviewed farm you will find. The all new Tractor Town Adventure Ride, all paved walkways so even the newest members of the family can enjoy the farm from the stroller. Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm is an experience like no other.

Corn box attack at the Pumpkin Farm
Bengstons Pumpkin Farm had to be the biggest farm yet that we have been to, offering so many activities for my family. We were able to get on rides like the barrels, yo-yo, and train which gave us a tour of the whole park. They offered sections for small children like playgrounds which was great for my 21 month old; and I have to say our favorite was the petting zoo seeing so many animals, feeding them and of course, petting them. They had so many food trucks and a common area to eat with live music which was great. Our older girls went through the haunted barn and fun barn as well. My only concern and least favorite area, which was disappointing because it was a favorite, had to be the corn box. Our girls love the corn box but upon our arrival we were attacked by all the kids launching corn at us. I found myself conversing with the other parents, that also had infants and toddlers, so upset at how out of control and unsafe it was. My daughters wanted to stay and of course my 21month old, so we did, but I had to literally patrol and yell at these kids to throw the other way or not throw at all because of the babies around us. Thank God we were shielded but a small fenced area that seemed to suit the babies but myself and the parents were still getting hit and only lasted so long that we left. That area needs to be supervised by workers/security with a limit of children to be able to control the throwing or have a no throwing policy and the kids be thrown out if they see that. It was just unsafe for both children and adults. Other than that issue we had a great experience and enjoyed coffee and apple cider donuts at the end.

    Lots to do but crowded
I’ve been living here for 3 years now and normally we go to Goebbert's. This being our last year here due to being a military family, I wanted to try somewhere different. I’ve heard lots of good things here from a few Facebook groups so decided to come here. I like how they gave military and a guest free entrance. We did have to pay for 2 extra people (kids) and it came out to $60. I like how everything was included in the admission with the exception of food and pumpkins. The downside was that it was way too crowded. Waited so long just to get on the rides. We were able to only go on 4 rides during the 6 hours we were there. The line for the food was long but the workers were awesome and serving everyone as fast as they could. They had a playground area for kids but because there were so many kids, I saw a handful of kids get hurt. They were all colliding with each other when they were just running around and trying to climb up or go down the slides. There was still a swarm of people still trying to come in and it was already crazy in there. I must say, the Apple cider donuts were amazing.

    Lots of fun
We went on a rainy afternoon (it stopped raining shortly after we arrived). We had 5 kids with us all under 5 years old. Had a great time! Didn’t have to wait long to get on the rides. Bought food from the bbq place that was good and served very fast. Would agree with other reviews that it would not be fun if it’s crazy crowded. Definitely recommend avoiding a weekend. It’s really more of a fall fest with a pumpkin patch. If you’re looking for a pumpkin patch this is not for you.

This is an annual trip for the family (4 adults, 2 teenagers, 4 littles) however, this year was a bit disappointing. First, the good things: love purchasing tickets online, love the pig races, roasted corn, the coffee shop (by the wagon ride) and overall ambience. Kudos to the workers this past Saturday. That place was packed and they were serving everyone they could as fast as they could with smiles on their faces! Not only that, the workers who were coming around and cleaning tables, the grounds, etc.. were putting in overtime and were upbeat as well.

Here are the negatives: cap how many people can enter (try a reservation system and have people buy in advance so you know how many people are coming prior) so you don’t wait 45 minutes to ride the rides or 45 minutes for food (after you stood in line for 30 minutes to order). I understand it’s a business and the goal is to make money, however, with the space provided for activities/rides and the number of people in there this past Saturday for example, frustration set in for parents, kids, etc… Not having people smoke inside would be excellent as well. Standing in lines with kids while the people in front of you are puffing away is not something people should have to battle with. In the petting zoo, many of the animals had eaten too much and were not interested in eating anymore. Having more lights around the place for when the sun sets would be beneficial, actual bathrooms for little kids would be an excellent idea, changing tables, and places with more seating.

It’s been an annual trip and I am hoping some changes are made for next year. We do love it there (three kids) and want to keep coming but the cost is starting to outweigh the positives.

I would have definitely given 5 stars had the facility not been so overcrowded. We went on Sunday, October 9th and our daughter is there today, Monday October 10th. Both days were insanely crowded. We brought our 2 year old granddaughter there and we had to wait and wait and wait in lines for every attraction. We didn’t even attempt some attractions because the lines were so long. The corn pit was ridiculously crowded with kids whipping corn at each other that stung when I was hit in the head. There should be a maximum capacity (number) of people that are allowed in the facility at one time and if they have one, they need to lower it to make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone for the price that we pay.

For a place that hosts so many families with toddlers and infants, the total absence of diaper changing or nursing stations was a surprise and a major inconvenience for my daughter and her family when we all visited Bengtson’s today.

The farm is well maintained and has many fun attractions, but the prices and long waits in line take away a lot from those features. $78 for two orders of chicken wings, an order of chicken strips, two orders of fries and three Cokes is stunningly ridiculous.

Additionally, the place was extremely over crowded to the point of seeming unsafe.

It’s a beautiful farm, however the amount of people that attend on the weekend is insane. I am very bummed out that I payed close to $200 for my family of 4 and my children were only able to experience 1 ride. The lines were Insane definitely not worth the amount they charge when you can’t enjoy the rides. We were in line for one hour just to get something to eat. I definitely won’t attend again specially on a weekend.

I love Bengstons farm, but they don't have limits for entry. This was my 3rd year on a row visiting the farm and the worst experience because of the crowd. One hour or more for every ride. That's INSANE!!! I thought I was on Disneyland but c'mon guys, rides don't compare. Who wants to wait one hour for 2 min on a rabbit or a tractor??? You couldn't walk. I mean, I don't bother about people at all. Every year they have a lot of visitors but this Sunday in particular was overcrowded. Every person you meet at lines was mad about that. Imagine a little kid waiting 1 hour in every ride. Also they hardly had any pumpkins in the pumpkin patch so, pictures was awful too. Maybe on weekdays .

After reading reviews here, decided 2 find a different pumpkin patch and discovered johansen farms in bolingbrook, il. It's free to go into their store, there is a picture room that is set up for social distancing, u can also buy beautiful mums and pumpkins, along with the bakery and their delicious, apple cider donuts (that r made on site all throughout the day). In You do have to pay for the zoo but is reasonable, theres a variety of animals that u can feed. And lots of things for the kids to do. Masks ARE required and enforced, hand sanitizer stations all throughout the zoo, and social distancing sign and stickers. My family had a great time. This place is covid safe as far as we r concerned. Felt safe bringing my kids and my mom there. So if u are looking for a covid safe place, I highly recommend Johansen Farms.

We spent $25/person on a Saturday, But it was absolutely horribly crowded with long waits for every single thing, even for snacks and food. We go here every year, and this was the worst this time. Bring your own toilet paper for bathrooms, and don’t even bother wearing a mask if you come to this one.

We’ve been loyal customers of Bengtson’s for MANY years and generations. Unfortunately we think this past visit will be the last. Throughout the years we’ve learned to visit on a week day, less crowded and better opportunities to enjoy the farm and all the amenities it has to offer. We visited this past Monday and it was a disaster. Extremely crowded, great for the farm, but would be nice if they would allow refund or at least an opportunity to change your tickets to a different day. They were “out” of every treat my kids look forward to. The prices are ridiculous, and the staff doesn’t do the best job at keeping the guests safe.
My toddler was trampled by a literal stampede of adults that were rushing to the “mining” attraction that we PAID for and didn’t even get to use.

Our kids didn’t get to go on one single ride because of the crazy lines and lack of social distancing. It’s sad that the farm packs people in like sardines to increase their profits, but doesn’t pay much attention to the quality of service they offer.

We attended Bengtson's in 2020, and it was great. Lines were reasonable. 2021, we spent over $400 for our son and two friends to go on 3 rides and we purchased them corn dogs, which took over an hour in line to reach. As you will see in the write-ups, the lines for a ride will take you over an hour and this was not worth our time nor money. I would never attend again.

Bengtson’s is a nice place to go to but not during COVID. They are definitely just piling people in without being conscious of the pandemic. There are no time slots when booking tickets so there is no true way to monitor the amount of people coming. Went on October 11, 2020 and it was so crowded you could barely get on things. People were not respecting the markings on the floor for lines or some were not wearing masks. Definitely a COVID nightmare!!!
