Honestly the entire tour was amazing. Josh was so entertaining, enthusiastic and friendly. It was also incredibly educational. We’ve visited from Australia as a family with our 4 year old and there was something for all of us! The entry fee easily covers the free chocolate you get to make yourself on the tour! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to everyone. It’s been one of my highlights travelling to York, the UK and Europe!!

We was met by a man on the street holding a sign advertising his shop, The Chocolate Story. In we went and although this is a very small shop, he has an amazing array of chocolate flavors. We bought a selection then carried on our way, but stopped again on the way back and bought an entire bag of them. The flavors are delicious, and uses a good quality chocolate. We will definitely call back in next time we are in town.

This tiny little treasure in Jackson Street, Petone is a must to visit if you like really really delicious chocolate. Lovingly made and beautifully decorated, these little delicacies are divine. The only trouble is when you buy them for gifts, you have to control the urge to eat them before you get home. These chocolates are perfection. There are so many flavours. They are clearly made with love and beautifully presented. They will even package up a small purchase in their own wonderful little boxes tied with ribbon.
Its located in the heart of the Jackson Street café/boutique sector, don't miss it as it is a small shop. (No 185 Jackson St)

Incredible chocolate, right in the heart of Petone. Hand made. Each piece is exquisite and like heaven.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, it's not massive but it takes you through the history of Chocolate/York and has something different in every room...I especially loved how the picture frame room worked! You get to understand high and low quality chocolate and learn how to taste it properly, then finally you make your own lolly and then watch how they make chocolate with fillings.....very interesting.

My biggest dilemma is trying to decide which chocolates to try. They all look and sound amazing. It has become our Easter tradition to take our 3 children to Chocolate Story to choose 4 beautiful chocolates forcthe Easter bunny to hide. So much be than buying nasty processed Easter products and the service is so much more personal. The Chocolate Story is one those gems that makes Petone such a great place to visit.

Very disturbing to see a child, with a terrible cold, in the chocolate atelier, coughing all over, without being told to cover her mouth.
On top of that....the prices, really??!!
