Bright orange bridge that you can't miss. Suspension bridge over the Aysen River. Very windy when we were there so just took a photo op. Declared a National Monument in Chile in 2002.

This 700 feet single-span suspension bridge, the longest in the country, stretches across the river Aysen, and is a critical transportation artery connecting Puerto Chacabuco and the regional capital Coyhaique with the rest of Chile. It offers pedestrian access, and panoramic views of its beautiful setting beneath the surrounding mountains.

Most perfect thing about this place is the view you can get of the Aysen River towards the fjords. Great place to take pictures at dusk.

locals are understandably very proud of this bridge beside one of the longest such bridge in Chile. Goof for chileans !
If you come from San Fran or Lisboa which suspension bridges at least 50 times longer and more spectacular than this bridge in Aysen, you would ho hum just to come here n see the bridge !
we cross the bridge en route back to cruise ship but did not remotely felt any exhilaration crossing over. To each their own

Don't understand the trouble, it's a bridge with the purpose of a bridge. Cars, bikes and pedestrian can pass over a river. So it's actually fulfilling its purpose really well.

If you are about to leave town, somebody will certainly ask you whether you've got a photo of the bridge. Locals are very proud of it!

To enter in the city you must pass the bridge, is just other bridge of the many you will find in Patagonia , nice view but lots of traffic around .

We were stuck for hours on the "wrong" side of this bridge because the locals were protesting by blocking the bridge and all traffic including our buses (5 in all). Our "release" had to be negotiated by the police so that we could get on our cruise ship. There were some very tense moments as were had to get off our bus and walk around the ring of tires that had been set on fire. This was not the way to in dear tourist to your area. Talk about "cutting off your nose to spite your face".
