Trail riding in the Polaris ATV was a blast!. Carlos our guide was very informative and attentive. The vehicles were plenty fast and exhilarating. Scenery was beautiful and overall experience was good. Some areas for improvement were as follows, trash on the beach was unacceptable, Polaris vehicles were old and suspensions were tired but still ok. Cell phones were supposedly not allowed but people still brought them in and the buggy in front of us slowed down frequently taking pictures. The waterfall pool was refreshing and overall the experience was definitely worth the money and I would return and recommend to friends. Thanks for a fun day.

We had a great experience at Bavaro Adventure Park! We did the buggy tour to the blue lagoon cenote and Dominican village. You go as a group with a guide through the bush for about 30 mins before stopping at the cenote. You have the chance to swim in the cenote, as well as sample coffee, cigars and chocolate (FREE SAMPLE, available to purchase at additional cost) at the traditional Dominican village. After returning from the tour, we ate a delicious meal of chicken, rice and beans and fresh vegetables that were included in the cost. Afterwards, we did an additional tour (already purchased ahead of time) on horseback through the bush which was very pleasant and felt safe with several guides accompanying. You may not take photos but there are photographers taking photos at each part of the tour which are available for purchase. If you do the buggy tour they will make you purchase sunglasses/goggles and a bandana ($10USD) so I suggest bringing your own. There are also lockers ($6USD) available to store your belongings while you are on the tour, and there is a gift shop and snack bar at the main base as well. 5/5, would recommend to couples, families.

We looked into ATVs and dune buggies and were guided by our hotel to try Polaris buggies instead. Four wheels, looks like a small jeep, either seats 2 or 4. Safer than ATVs and probably faster than dune buggies.

Our adventure was guided by Panda who had an assistant and a photographer in his Polaris. Nevertheless, he managed to be faster than us probably because we were more cautious.

The roads are bumpy and there were areas meant to accentuate the rocky road aspects which it successfully did. It was dry season so we were spared the mud spray and instead ended our adventure with a coating of dust that made us look like ghosts.

We appreciated the local village tour and a chance to shop for some genuine DR made goods, albeit at a small markup. The provided Dominican lunch was a great snack after the Polaris ride.

30 minute TOTAL buggy ride time….. To start things off, we were instructed to place EVERYTHING in a $6 locker, including your cell phone or anything you may have to be able to take a photo because they want to sell you the photos they take. They seriously stopped my husband and me in the first 5 minutes of the ride and told us to give them our phones (like a little child). They had us sign a release in case of injury, which was fine and I total expected. If having a cell phone is a safety hazard, I would’ve been happy to include that in the release statement. Be sure to coat yourself in bug spray as the mosquitos are worse than horrible. Lunch was mediocre at best. Oh…. If the fact that they charge you for ANY drink option (even water.. $2) with your lunch, doesn’t tell you a little something about this operation, well…. go try it for yourself! I was appalled at the entire operation to be honest. If they put as much effort into the ride itself as they do trying to sell you their goods, it may be with worth the $200 we paid for this excursion. I truly don’t know how they are still in business. The one thing we did enjoy was the beautiful waterfall at the pool that we had 1.5 hours left from our “buggy excursion” to spend enjoying. We thought we paid for a dune buggy excursion, not a swim at a pool with a waterfall. Do your homework, ride dune buggies elsewhere! There are plenty of other operations to choose from! We sure regret choosing this one!
When we were escorted back to our locker to put our phones away, it ended up being the best part because on the way back, we got to get up a little speed in the buggy. We caught up with our group and didn’t skip a beat with the total 30 min ride time… still amazes me that a 4 hour excursion gives you 30 min in the buggy!

Tours - Buggy ride, Blue Lagoon, and Waterfall (We did not go to the waterfall)

My family and I were disappointed. We’ve been on other tours in other countries and this was unfortunately subpar.

The good.
Excellent facilities.
New and very clean with large restrooms.
Good shops and easy to get around.
Lots of staff and they are very friendly, speak Spanish and English.
Very organized.
Food is average but not bad.

The poor.
To much staff, everyone is trying to run around and be important with lots of oversight telling all the guest where to go and what to do constantly. All while being very nice. Make you feel like you are cattle.

The buggy ride would have been fun but there was constant stopping on the trail. As soon as you got going you stopped.
Buggy’s were constantly breaking down.
The group was way to large (80+ guest in one group), slower drivers causing the group to have to stop and wait for them to catch up.

The Blue Lagoon is very beautiful but small. They crammed all 80+ guest into it. The good news is they tried to make everyone take a shower before you got in, most people did.

On the buggy ride your second stop was at a small store so they could sell you on cigars and other products. Big Willie was great but basically a sales job with some free samples. There was no explanation of the small historical homes you walked through.

No phones/cameras for your safety, which is a good idea so guest are not trying to take selfies while driving. However, they take all the pictures and try to sell you at the end.

Lockers - $6 or $9 USD to store your backpacks/phones/other.

Bandana - $6 USD for the buggy ride to keep dust/dirt off you face

No water or drinks provided.

Summary.
Not worth it, basically your rushed in all areas. Have to pay for lockers/bandanas/water or drinks.

Only go if you are in a very small group, otherwise its a wast of time.

Our hotel agent sold me on this excursion. The buggy ride was awful- bumpy and NO scenery besides trees in the middle of no where. The best part was the authentic meal you receive at the end. The "lagoon" you get to swim in, our hotel sold us on, was man-made and back at the adventure park. Not really out in the wild like described to us.
You are gone almost all day even though this is a 'half day' excursion. We saw the ocean for 5 minutes.
also they do not let you bring your camera for safety reasons. Don't buy that- unless you are a driver, you would totally be safe to take your phone and snap photos along the way. They want you to buy their photo pass (which we did btw...); it runs about $10 a photo.

They claim to give you 1.5 hours of dune buggy riding and that falls short to just 45 mins. And it's not what you think you trail a large group so it's more like a dusty tran ride than a free riding experience then comes 2 hours of selling products and pictures. That lunch they say is included ends up being a plate of rice beans and salad....other menu items are available but you'll have to pay same goes for drinks..stay at the resort everything outside of it is a scam....this place is a great example.

Hello, Thank you for taking your time and share your experience. Our buggies tour has a maximum capacity of 20 buggies per group, ridding through the jungle, stop at the Blue Lagoon Cenote, driving in an abandoned mine and visit the Dominican Village for free cocoa, coffee, mama juana and hand made cigar tastings. Our typical dominican lunch included is: chicken, rice and beans, salad, fried plantains and water stations. Variety of drinks, snaks, photos and souvenirs available for sale. All above mentioned is on our website and brochures. We are sorry to read that our concept is different than what you expected. We hope you had a good time in Punta Cana. Respectfully

This was the worst experience would never have booked this if we were given the correct information about this excursion we were told that we would swim first and then drive buggies, which was the total opposite. Why would I want to drive a buggy soaking wet the place that they bring you to swim is disgusting I would not touch that water . The food was terrible. The customer service was terrible. We were told that we would be back at our hotel at 5 PM, when the bus did not pick us up until 6 PM
Just over all a very bad experience would highly NOT recommend they make you wait and wait and than leave you there
Filled out a complaint with company as to why we’re were left there till 6pm when all the employees we’re leaving and we were still there!

It was a fun day. We did buggies, spring water lagoon (cenote) and waterfall pool ( just a regular pool) the waterfall pool was good to chill but not worth paying for it but it was included in our package. Shout out to Choco Banana (guide). Cool dude!!

The Polaris course was really awesome and fun. Carlos was a great guide! The waterfall is not a real waterfall but a pool with rocks coming from the water. Also, you will not be allowed to bring your phone with you to take pictures you have to buy the pictures they take.
