I would rate this minus 5 if I could. If you are reading the reviews, like I did and you think ‘how bad can it be’ it’s bad. Go somewhere else for this tour, there are other places. We are English and were on a bus with Portuguese family. We were immediately taken into a ‘VIP’ section away from the other family. No thank you. We were trapped there for 3 hours before we actually got on the buggies. They take you to the gift shop and press you to buy things ‘for the children’. Then you are waiting, waiting. You go to a blue hole. Then are forced to watch this dance and they want tips. Eventually you get on the buggies and they stop you on a beach where you are surrounded by locals trying to get you buy things and you feel unsafe. I didn’t book this trip to buy things. I should also add that yes kids are everywhere and run after your buggy, but you will always get that in poor areas. It’s more the aggressive selling which did it for me. Avoid!

We did the evening excursion that included driving the buggy through residential areas where residents chase your buggy trying to get money. We drove to a beach, took a few pictures and then drove the buggy to the area with the rest of the activities. I would have liked more time in the buggy and more off road time. Once we arrived to the rest of the activities we saw a quick traditional dance and learned some DR history, went into a cave that was done up with glow lights and some pretty decor, were given history on coffee and cocoa and rum, then we swam in another cave, had a buffet dinner and then had a dance party. I thought the activities were fun, but it all seemed a bit rushed and unorganized. The dinner was okay. My biggest complaint is that I paid USD$86 for photos and they never sent them to us. I've tried reaching out, but no one will respond.

Don’t bother with this experience, look elsewhere. Booked the premium experience through TUI rep only to be given a basic-package buggy that wasn’t fit for anywhere but the scrapyard. It had a flight tire, steering column was totally broken causing the buggy to jolt randomly at random times which is extra dangerous given the amount of people lining the roads asking for money. The coffee/coconut/cigar part of the “experience” wasn’t a showcase into the growing and manufacturing of them all in DR but a 10 minute build up to a 25 minute sales/shopping experience. The cenote/cave is rushed and all they want is for you to get in the water to get a photo that they’ll try and sell you for $100 at the end. Water was freezing cold and it was very busy. Even if you liked the water you were rushed out after 10 minutes. The “traditional show/dance” is given know context and again is just a demand for tips/extra money for an experience we’d already paid nearly $100 for. The beach we drove to is nice but full of people with animals trying to get you to take photos (parrots with clipped wings to stop them flying and abused monkeys) and people selling random crap. Once again 10 minutes and we were rushed away. Really disappointing tour. There are many other providers around and other experiences to do in Punta Cana which you should definitely look at first.

Excellent fun by a large buggie operator recommended by our tour operator. Drove the buggies along a number of tracks, visited the golden sands of a Gorgeous beech before heading to Domitai Park for a swim in the caves. The reason for the low rating is the maintenance of the karts. We had two! The first one had shocking steering play and just as we approached the beech stop the steering box failed leading to no steering at all! The second kart wasn’t much better but had the added bonus of almost no breaks either! Not that funny when driving on public roads with cars, coaches, bikes, pedestrians and horses coming toward you! The main tourist operator (TUI) should be checking these types of operators are running these excursions safely.

The buggy ride was boring! We mostly drove on roads and a few dust tracks. Make sure you wear old clothes as you will get very dusty. I would say it’s probably not suitable for people with asthma or lung conditions. We were told that the beach we would stop at was one of the most beautiful but the beach by our hotel was much better. We only stopped at the beach for 15 mins then on to the adventure park. We were told to bring suitable footwear to explore caves but we just walked down some stairs to the cave pool. This pool was freezing. The show was very short and the food was poor. The bonfire was a few pieces of wood burning as we left. Wish we had saved our money. The staff all worked really hard to keep everyone entertained but unfortunately this wasn’t enough.
