We went on Maundy Thursday (day before Good Friday). We booked 1 day in advance. When we got there they told us the beach was getting too crowded and we would not be able to visit it that day. They said we would get extra time at the cave. We were only at the cave for 15 minutes so they did not give us any extra time there.
I also would not consider this excursion adventurous. You have to follow in a straight line the boogie ahead of you. There is no passing and no weaving to either side. We only drive on dirt roads and pavement in the local town seeing the little huts that locals live in and yes there were horse and donkey dung on the roads that you had to avoid or get spattered with it.
Also, when walking down to the cave, there was a monkey on a leash with a handler. The handler stopped my 19 year old son and was putting him on my son's shoulder, head etc and then he did the same with my 16 year old son and husband. The handler told me to take pictures. My camera said I took pics from 10:14am to 10:16am. The monkey had his teeth removed but the handler was giving him treats and he did bite my son's ear (and later my sister's hand). He is a tough hockey player and mentioned that night at dinner that his ear was still stinging. Get this - for that less than 3 minutes of picture taking for my 2 boys and husband, there was nothing said or negotiated with the handler before he started putting the monkey on my family members. I went to get him a tip from my bag and he said that I owed him $10 per person or $30!!! He is crazy.
All in all was very disappointed with this excursion. There were about 40 boogies that all went out at the same time that morning. The boogie in front of our group was very slow at driving and my brother in law's boogie broke down as well. They did get him one to replace it. The majority of boogies have absolutely bare, bald tires. I would not recommend this tour. This was booked with the Costco agent at our resort.

They pulled the old bait and switch on us. We bought a half day buggy ride, and then they changed the time and the type of ride on us the day of. The ride is fun, bring a swimsuit and a towel. Was it fun? Yes. Would we do this company again, No.

The 5 hour tour was 2 hours of buggy ride, 3 hours of sitting and waiting on their bus or in their horribly overpriced gift shop.

I went with about 17 of my family members who were staying at a resort in Punta Cana. Pickup was easy, our driver was great, and things were pretty well organized at the site. After a quick orientation for rules and a schedule, we were assigned our ATVs and were off on our adventure.

Driving through the back roads and the mud was great, and I wish we’d had more time back there. One thing to think about—we didn’t realize that part of the trip would happen all at once, and so we never thought to change drivers. My cousin was behind the wheel the whole time, and while I had a great time, it would’ve been nice to also have a chance to drive during that portion of the day. There were SO many people between the different companies though, so I imagine it might have been tough to facilitate a driver switch as the tour was happening. Just keep in mind that the first muddy ride is where the majority of the driving happens, so plan accordingly if you have someone who really wants to drive through the dirt, etc.

The Taino village was touristy, but cute, and it was great to have a place to clean off after getting so dirty on the ATVs (another note—you don’t HAVE to get as dirty as we did, we just purposely went through every mud puddle). I didn’t buy anything, but people seemed happy with the hot chocolate and coffee samples, and a few purchased rolled cigars. The staff and performers were all lovely and it was nice to dry off and watch some of the dancing, etc.

We didn’t have time at the beach, which was a bummer. We weren’t notified about that change until we arrived at the site, and COVID was given as the reason. While I can understand that reasoning, I wish we’d been told when we purchased tickets, so I could’ve better planned what to bring. It also seems a bit silly to pay for something that won’t be an option for the foreseeable future.

Ultimately though, we had a lot of fun, and I’d do it again. It was nice to get off of our resort for a bit and see a different part of DR.

We tried to make the best of this adventure but it was really quite disappointing. We had to wait at least an hour and not sure why. It seemed like everyone around us had been told something different. Our boogie was in poor condition and my helmet was a bike helmet. The seatbelts didn’t work. Driving the boogies through the mud was awesome but the stops seemed like set-ups for sellers. Macao beach is beautiful but we stopped beside the sellers as well as the parrot and iguana owners who just wanted money for pictures taken. The cave was pretty crowded so just a few minutes to jump in for the swim. There was no sunset and once we got back to the ranch we just sat around and waited with music blasting and dancing. When the bbq was ready it was raw hamburgers and boiled sausages. They were generous with the drinks and the mama Juana but I would not recommend this outing suggested by Sunwing. I would look for a better place

We booked two buggies for our family of four through a third party. When we arrived we paid but while waiting to leave my wife decided she did not want to drive oh, so we asked to change for one four-person buggy. They said no problem and it would be the same price. I asked for a Honda and they said no problem. But then when it was time to leave they put us in a four person buggy but my knees were around the steering wheel so they put us in the Honda after all. The trail was extremely bumpy and Dusty. The cave was okay but they kept this there to try and sell us expensive souvenirs.
But the worst part was they tried to get an additional $100 from the people we booked through.

We decided to book this adventure tour through our hotel, Sanctuary Cap Cana after we looked through the brochure and saw the modern and newer looking side by sides. We were told it was a 5 hour tour and would take us through the jungle and to the beach.

A guy in a real sketch, open windowed bus picked us up and drove us an hour north to a location where it was clearly made for tourists. There were hundreds of atvs around and people galore from all over the different Dominican hotels. Picture people just herding cattle.

We were guided off to a rickety, no-maintenance, overheated engine buggy. We went off, 30 buggy deep, going no faster than about 10-15 mph. There were at least 10 buggies at some point break down on the trip. Our buggy’s gauges did not work at all and at some point, it wouldn’t shift into 2nd gear so the engine just kept revving.

First stop was at some park to watch dancers, get to try some hot cocoa and go into a cave.

2nd stop was to a beach where we only stayed for about 15 minutes but it was enough because there were aggressive hustlers and swindlers everywhere trying to get you to buy things.

Lots of kids begging for a dollar while you were riding in the countryside.

Finally the tour ended by making you go around a loop in an attempt to get you to buy some overpriced pictures.

Save your money, do your research and book something local and something that lets you ride the buggies for longer than 20 minutes and gives you a more unique experience and doesn’t try to fool you. Complete false advertisement.

Amazing experience, they definitely taking covid precaution serious. Best money I ever spent and worth the price, whether you're there with your little family or as a couple their buggies are fast fun and easy to maneuver. I definitely don't know how to drive yet and this was super easy to do. They take to where the taino Indians use to live, teach you about Dominican coffee and chocolate, how its made as well as the Dominican number one drink mamajuana. After that the taino river called Senote hoyo indigenas, the cave was beautiful. The water was 1meter so if you can't swim no worries you be able to walk just be careful with the rocks in the water. Water shoes would be an excellent choice. The water is refreshing the photographer are on point their picture quality is amazingly clear and they catch every angle. After that you head back to the buggies for some mud splashing bumping ride to Macao beach which is amazingly beautiful as well for more photo ops. This place definitely gets more the a 5 star for simply being for the best experience

If you sign up for this mess, you will drive boogies mainly on public road with small kids entering the street just im front of you to force you to give them money. Beggars will either want money for nothing or they will give you a tiny flower in exhange. Boogies are in terrible technical shape. But the company doesn't care cause you have to sign a waiver giving up rights to sue them in case anything happens to you. If you don't sign, they will not give you your money back cause you already enjoyed (long annoying) bus trip there.
Even though it is titled Boogies, you will not enjoy any free drive. All the time you will have some grandpa slowly driving in front of you and some crazy guy trying to crash you from back.

You will spend ton of time doing boring things like watching locals doing some tribal dances and being told to buyome overpriced crap how it will help you even with cancer. Let's not forget about swimming in
a cave that has a pipe delivering cold water to it.

My recommendation is to avoid this crap!

And one last info. We asked several people and we found out that the prices for which this trip is sold differs between agents. The difference may be even 100%. All of them are liars. Thy will promise you anything just to make you pay!

Very bad overall experience!

I don’t normally leave reviews for anything. But this was an absolute scam of a time. We were told it would be 3-1/2 hours as we didn’t wanna spend all day out on a excursion. Well, almost 5-1/2 hours later I’m finally back at my resort to write this. We paid to upgrade our “boogie” for this trip. Honestly I’m glad we did as more than 8 or 9 of the basic buggies in our group broke down and two of the medium class ones did as well. We were herded through shops by the locals almost the whole time. The driving only consisted of paved roads and dirt roads with pot holes were children ran up and begged us for $1 while the “guide” would stop us so we could pay them. The only part I can say I enjoyed was the cave as it was the only time we weren’t harassed to buy local art. I still think even after driving in a line of slow buggies to be shown shops and have our photos taken before people try to sell them back to you I still would have been ok with it. But when we returned from the cave, they had taken all of our buggies back to the facility and left nearly 30 of us stranded in a parking lot. We didn’t get to ride our buggies we paid for back. We had to wait for a bus to show up and take us back to the facility. Then wait for another bus to take us to our resort. Honestly. The experience wasn’t worth any bit of the price, which was very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

I went with my wife to spen the day with the boogie experience and we was very disappointed, we arrive to the place and they try to sell as much as they can in the shop full of staff pushing to buy souvenirs and all of them without price, when I ask for one of the little turtle worth 2£ one of the guys try to sell me for 40$. Unbelievable.then he was dropping till 10$. After waiting for the boogie they try to sell you pictures even before start the adventure. After the security explanation they again try to sell sunglasses, bandanas and all kind of rubbish to keep your staff. Also available to rent lockers for 20$. The boogies was automatic and nothing exciting as the low ones I saw in the picture. On the way to the cave nothing more than 10 min ride from a normal road and after the dance and explanation about tahinos which was ok.we went to the cave for 15 min and then Macao beach. Full of people trying to sell hats and asking for money, the beach was completely destroyed for all the boogies and ATVs and I regret taking this adventure which destroy the beach and all the way between the forest. Then came back to the boogies place and again all the way through the shops.
Very esstresful trip and I don't recommend this company.
