I just got back from Puerto Plata a couple of weeks ago. Let me tell you, if you have been to Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana first you must NEVER visit Puerto Plata. There is absolutely no comparison. I went to Bavaro when I was...More

Our room was booked as a deluxe swim up suite, which is the type of suite where you open up your patio and can go right into the pool. We were booked as VIP as we upgraded. When we got there, we checked in at...More

So beautiful!!! We will definitely be making plans to return soon!! My only complaint would be the guys who bombard you to come to their shops the minute you walk into the beach.

We walked on the pristine white sands every day during our weeklong stay. There are many activities available like para sailing, snorkeling, and cruising. This is the ocean so the sea weeds come to shore constantly, but the crew diligently hauls it. That’s the island...More

The beach is scenic, clean and well looked after. You see people clearing up the seaweed and any litter on a daily basis, brilliant for the environment! We had gone just coming out of monsoon season so the flags were red but you were allowed...More

The reefs are further and the swimming areas are just seaweed and sand. We did find a turtle in a patch of grass though, but visibilty is not good. Lot of speed boats, and boats that are not leaving the place quiet. but it s...More

This beach is amazing!! You can walk for hours and hours, no stones. White sand as far as you can see 😊

You can walk 2+hours along this wide sandy beach, but the water was very rough during my 2 week visit i.e. couldn't swim. Lots of big waves and very windy. Seaweed level was also high this time but was better as I walked north.

Beautiful palms, glorious sand and friendly fish! Busy but didn’t feel crowded. Lots of shade and hassle free.

We took a snorkel trip from here and it was so special and the beach was clean and beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We dream of white beaches lined with palm trees with waves crashing in. Well this is it. The only slight imperfection was the amount of seaweed that was washed up during the storm which created an unsightly mess.

The beach is fantastic- white sand and easy to enter the shallow, warm water to swim or play. The only thing, in my mind, detracting from the experience is the amount of seaweed in the surf, washing up on the beach. There are “seaweed control...More

I saw the worse and the best. I think if you go to the Palace you are fine in any circunstancies but the adults area cumulates more seaweed. January should be fine as this problem is more evident during Jun-Sep.
