....and even then do not come here.
That was the case with us being 5 days in Punta Cana and beforehand 4 days in Puerto Plata. 9 days in a golden cage was too much for me, so we went here with our rented car to have a change and see what's there. What a waste of time.
Few shops open in the mall, overpriced despite New years "sale", few eateries and that's it. Was very happy returning to my hotel.

Do not visit the mall! We visited the Jumbo supermarket and some of the shops in the mall. No atmosphere! Someone actually sh*t on the floor in the mall. I also connected to the wifi here and ever since all my accounts have been hacked - so it is not a secure wifi. Do not bother.

Downtown Punta Cana has a lot of places to visit: the mall that has many popular stores and restaurants. And next to that, there is the Ikea home store as well. Nice area with many great people too

Asked our taxi driver to take us to a shopping mall. We didn’t have much clue where would be good to shop in Punta Cana so he suggested here. $40 one way in a taxi which is extortionate. We got there and returned within 10 minutes. Nothing to see or do there was about 3 shops open all of which selling tacky bikinis and souvenirs. We rang the taxi driver and paid another $40 back to our hotel. Such a waste of time and money don’t bother.

You will be told that you are not allowed to visit or shop outside of the area you were dropped off at.
But don't fear, they don't follow you either. You get better deals at the Dominican version of Walmart
than at the stores inside.Do yourself a favor and explore. You still have to get your receipt or something
stamped from several places within the minimall but do that first and explore. Be sure to get back in time
for the bus to take you back to your hotel.

Downtown Punta Cana shopping center was nice there were shops there and a grocery store. The store was a nice relief from eating all the food from your resort. Was able to grab some chips, cookies, juice, and other items left behind and etc. The Riu will take you there for FREE so you don’t have to pay taxi fees. Not sure about other resorts but I would ask do they offer free transportation there. IKEA was next door to the shopping center. Didn’t get time to go in. There is a big sign to stand in front to take photos.

This is not an average mall don’t get all excited just a nice place to visit outside your resort and to hit grocery store for some other kind of food and munchies.

It doesn’t matter if it is downtown or at your all-inclusive hotel, you have to be careful of the “bargains” offered. The locals are very used to foreign tourists and they are quite skillful when it comes to selling. Question their products, and don’t worry of offending anybody by saying no. They usually don’t put prices on their products and give you a whole price for everything you bought when it comes to crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. If you ask them enough times for the specific price for each product, they will end up telling it to you.

There is nothing there but a big expense. The taxi, the restaurants over priced(your bill will be padded by 28% at the end)most everything is expensive.Remember that everything has to get there by boat so you will pay for that.

Really small shopping center
The stores are similar to those in the state but much expensive
We saw items that sold on 50$ and we bought them on 5$ on AliExpress
Not worth the visit. Especially when you take taxi that charge you 30$ for nothing

Whether you are looking for groceries, a bank, or just a place to hang out, Downtown Punta Cana is a great place to find it all. Very modern with with all of your needs close at hand.

Jumbo is a great place to shop. It is our version of a full service Walmart. If you are staying in a condo and fending for yourself you will be able to get most everything you need in one store.

There are authentic restaurants as well as franchise restaurants in the area.

Thursday night seems to be the busiest time of the week. Everyone is out shopping and hanging out at their favourite restaurant. But don't let that keep you away. It is a great way to mingle with the locals.
