has too often I hear how wonderful beach reviews on this one, but the opportunity to visit the new implemented in mid november 2012.
arrive at the destination, not a single word that best describes the beauty, uniqueness and beauty. the charm of the beach is really thrilling. it is a paradise for the eyes and every corner offers the charm of each. every angle is an indulgent treat for the photographer. within half a day here is not enough. This beach offers panoramic views beautiful even in cloudy conditions though. Come and enjoy the charm, before it becomes too crowded beaches by visitors :)

The beach is located about 20 km westward from Pacitan town is very beautiful, especially coupled with the phenomenon of stone spouting water, because it was hidden we have to find a guide who is in the vicinity of the beach. The beach that we can indulge our eyes because of its beautiful beaches, this beach is perfect for lovers of photography, access to the beach is easy, of course Pacitan us straight to the cave gong, after arriving at the cave gaong we just follow the directions to get Klayar beach.

The road heading Klayar Beach is a bit challenging (and dangerous too, since it's only fit for one car). But when you arrive, you will know that it's definitely worth it. It's all so pretty, and you can get awesome pictures when the sky is bright. But you have to be careful when you want to play on the beach, because the wave is pretty high.

A few trashes that I saw there became the downside of this place. I hope people who manage the beach shows more concern about it.

This beautiful beach is located outside Pacitan. If you stay in Pacitan, you can visit Srau beach first, then head to Klayar beach. But the road from Srau is not recommended for cars, there is a sign only for motorbikes. But you can go back to main road which is not too far, direction Jogja/Solo, then turn left after Punung market. The sign is Goa Gong and Klayar beach. You will find a big junction with no sign, this time you take right and follow until you pass Goa Gong. Keep driving the long winding road, be careful as there are steep ups and downs, make sure you are a skillful driver and your vehicule is in good condition! During public holidays and weekends this place is full of local tourists, they come by big buses and private cars and motorbikes. Long traffic might happen around Goa Gong and the entrance of Klayar beach. But when you arrive your eyes will be spoilt by the beautiful scenery. If you park on the hill, walk downwards to the beach and enjoy the view from above. Left side you will see line of rocks, one looks like sphinx. There's small lagoon where you can swim. And you can walk towards left side pass the rocks and see the splash of sea water through a hole which creates some music from the nature. There are warungs to buy food and drink, and public toilets. Beach is clean, hopefully it will last long as this beach is becoming famous among local tourists.

At the time I write this review of Klayar beach there are already 78 reviews, of which only one by a foreign visitor. That reflects the difficulty of getting there if you don't have your own motorized transport.
Yet I think it is worth your time and effort. My wife and I found Klayar beach one of the most interesting and varied beaches of Java. Not only is there a wide white sandy beach, but there are also weird rock formations, "sea waterfalls" of waves washing over rock plateaus, and last but not least a "geyser" also designated as flute.
The access road leads to he western end of the beach, where one can climb to a lookout point. For the waterfalls and the geyser one has to walk east. We saw the geyser from above after climbing the hill closing off the beach at the eastern end. The geyser effect is due to the surf pushing into a narrow cleft in a rock plateau. When the conditions are favourable one can approach the geyser walking on the plateau. But when we visited the plateau was off-limits as people would be washed off it. (We were told 14 people drowned that way before access was strictly regulated.)
In tghe short time since the beach has been made more accessable, Klayar Beach has become immensely popular among domestic tourists. Therefore, if you don't want to be part of a crowd, come on a working day.
My advice to foreigners: Don't attempt a day trip from Yogyakarta, but stay a night or two over in Pacitan. There hire a car or motorcycle with driver for the 40 km to Klayar beach. You can visit Goa Gong on the way. Better still make it a long day and ask your driver to visit also Pantai Banyu Tibo (waterfall beach) and Goa Luweng Ombo (big hole cave).

Super excellent view. Perfect for pre-wed shots but be careful not to walk on top of cliff during high tides. Climb the hill nearby for another amazing view.

Klayar beach about 2 hours from Pacitan town. The beach is beautiful with its golden sand and rock. When you want to see sunset you should hike the rock hill on your right side (you facing the sea). On the left side there's also rock hill where you can find "Seruling Samudera" (ocean flute). Its a small gap in the rock that will spout water with the sound like flute. Really fun moments waiting for the water to spurt and catch that moments with your camera. Location of "Seruling Samudra" was not opened all day long, when high tide visitors prohibited entering this area. From what I heard from the guard, this location closed around 10 am to 2 pm.
Entrance fee to Klayar beach was IDR 3.000 (pay at entrance area) and IDR 2.000 for entering "Seruling Samudra" (pay to the guard of this location).

Around beach there's widely available cheap accommodation/guesthouse, ranging from the price of IDR 100.000 up to IDR 300.000 per night, and they do not limit the number of people who can stay in the room, even they provides free mat for us. If you don't want to spend money for room space you might consider to bring your tent and sleep on the beach... many people did it.

This place is naturally, following south lane of java island, this location called "situs Klayar" , driving abaut 1.5hr from Pacitan city with village road and rock road, wonderful.. Worldclass panorama compare to dreamland bali on the east and indrayanti beach at the west. You can hear turbulence wave sound from the rock . try that!!
