Travelled here by longtail boat from Koh Yao Noi. Nice island but spoilt by how busy it was. Not much to see or do here apart from sit on the beach and enjoy the view. Limited areas to swim/snorkel due to moored boats on beach.

Do you want to experience what it's like to enjoy your own "private" beach island that you only dream about but seem like a fantasy because of the crowds of other tourists?

Keep this in mind. Almost every Hong Island tour follows the same itinerary.

Hong Island beach
Hong Island lagoon
Lading island (shady lunch spot)
Pakbia island to see sand bar connecting islands during LOW TIDE

When we visited, low tide was around 11:30am. So most tours visit Pakbia island first so tourists can experience/take photos of the sandbar that connects the islands.

So guess what? If you show up during HIGH TIDE, there is NO ONE else on this beach island because all the boats/tours have left to move onto other islands on their tour.

We arrived at Pakbia island after 3:30pm way past low tide. We arranged with our boat captain to stay through sunset so we literally had the entire beach/island to ourselves from 3:30pm-6:30pm. It was magical. We (the 6 of us who shared our private boat) all swam in the ocean and laid on the beach to ourselves enjoying sunset and feeling like the luckiest people in the world.

Sure, we didn't see much of a sandbar during high tide but who cares when you finally get a chance to have an island experience and sunset w/o the crowds - and in fact, no other boat but ours. It was the highlight of our Krabi experience.

It's stating the obvious that if you do what everyone else is doing at the same time, you're going to hate being on the same beach/island with seemingly everyone else. But if you visit the smaller islands like Pakbia during a time that's different than others, you might get lucky like we did.

P.S. We were a couple who corralled 2 other couples to rent private longtail boat for 3500 baht. You can get cheaper longtail from the actual piers you leave from but it was easy to find other individuals/couples who preferred a private boat at the boat ticket office in Ao Nang where many people are hiring boats to go to Railay Beach and other nearby spots.

Beautiful island. This is the 3rd stop from our Hong Island trip. The rocks can be slippery so bring along beach booties. BEWARE of the area with trees. A green snake (pit viper i think) fell from one of the trees to my husband’s back. Lucky it didnt bite

Just about 30 minutes by speed boat from Ao Nang to North West and you reach to this small island. It might be part of Hong island tour. I reached this place by Orchide Resort tour to Hong islands as the 1st station in this tour. Do not miss this beautiful small piece of heave.
I have photos but since it is the 1st review over this island there is non place to add photos to show part of the island's beauty.

We visited this island on a 3 island tour and it was beautiful. Not super crowded when we went (about 10:30am), but started to get busy around 12, There are A LOT of rocks in the water, so not a comfortable location to walk around in the water (bring water shoes), but that also means less people are in the water, so it's a trade off.

Lovely island, great day out. We even managed to snorkel . Soft sand, plenty of space on the beach. Worth the fee. Our man was great stopping at places as long as we wanted to.

This beautiful yet tiny island is a bit too popular for its own good but if you manage to get there at a quiet moment it really is lovely. Among this spectacular karst landscape of the Koh Hong archipelago near Krabi, Koh Pak Bia is a small isle which is actually split into two each time the rising tide covers the sand bar connecting the two vertical cliffs of eroded limestone.Take a snorkel and swim with the colourful fish as we explored the rocky coastline. There not much else to do here. Useful loo there - but that's it.

We paid a local fisherman to take us to Hong island and to Pak Bia island, which is actually a pair of islands, connected by a narrow sandy beach, which is completely submerged during high tide.
The islands are tiny and walking around them takes only a couple of minutes.
Thankfully, there was nobody else there during our visit, so we could take endless photos of them.
There's some vegetation on the islands, but we saw no animals at all.
Absolutely beautiful.

We got here late in the day and had the pleasure of seeming the teeming swarms of tourists depart in their jam-packed speedboats. Most of them did not look happy. We loved it. Note there is a a 2-stall bathroom provided on the island near the arch rock.

This place in the late afternoon starts dropping its water level so you can see the seabed and notice sea water running down from one side to another shore which is amazing
