While Driving from Kaduna to Abuja you come across a natural wonder of the world. This is natural rock cut formation on a big stone mountain. If you closely watch it looks like a face of a man. The formation is so intriguing and always poses a question that how did it happen.

This attraction is located close to Abuja while travelling from Kaduna coming from the north.I have passed this rock twenty time coming to and from Abuja over the last 12 years. It is a massive igneous intrusion that beside serving as an attraction can be visited for excursion by students of Geography my area of specialization as an Academic staff. The rock is similar to the Kwatarkwashi rock located along Gusau road in Zamfara State. There is no facilities provided for recreational /tourist activities around the rock except for an uncompleted hotel building that could not be completed due to threats by spirits or jinns according to popular sayings. This issue not withstanding the rock area should be developed as a recreational, tourist center to serve particularly the people of Abuja and foreign visitors to the federal capital.

This is what you can call “The Rock” I have seen mountains in Austria and Switserland. Canyons in the US but this is one mighty rock and it puzzles me how the heck does this thing come here. Mother Earth has some nasty surprises. Enjoy. Be careful for high checking

I'd been looking forward to seeing Zuma Rock, a massive and fascinating rock on the route from Abuja to Kaduna. I only drove past it, but it looks very impressive.

It's a regular sight for me as I pass by it about twice weekly. It has a lot of history among the Zuba people and is iconic to Nigeria as a whole. Always wonder how the face like craving on its side came about though

Zuma Rock is a large monolith, an igneous intrusion composed of gabbro and granodiorite, that is located in Niger State, Nigeria. It rises spectacularly immediately west of Nigeria's capital Abuja, along the main road from Abuja to Kaduna off Madala, and is sometimes referred to as the "Gateway to Abuja from Suleja".

I always feel the awesomeness of this natural monument of Zuma rock having humanlike face whenever I travels the Abuja - Kaduna road.
It is a huge monument lying by the side of the expressway when traveling the Abuja - kaduna road. Sometimes I have had to stopped by to have some pictures for a keepsake.

This is the iconic Abuja monument albeit a natural one. Its actually outside Abuja in Niger State on the Abuja Kaduna road but not far and worth a drive. Its a tall igneous rock hill with scarce vegetation but it has markings which resemble a face and this makes it interesting. It is viewed from various sides for a comprehensive view. It is over 700 meters in height and impressive.
