Discover Scuba Diving

A "Try-Dive" is perfect for anyone who has never dived before and would like to give it a try to get an idea of how it feels to breath underwater and swim with the fish. In the Discover SCUBA Diving program the dive instructor explains the most important parts of diving theory first, then you go into shallow water to get used to the breathing under water and practice some diving skills.  Once you feel comfortable you go for one easy guided dive. So you can get step-by-step a beautiful dive experience. This program takes around 3 hours and it can be even enjoyed by people who don't know how to swim.

Learnt how to Dive at Dive Cabarete! The entire team: James, Sioned, Nelson & Domingo were awesome! Can't thank them enough. I felt safe and comfortable at all times - couldn’t have asked for a better teacher than James.... and it all began with Sioned: A casual conversation with Sioned piqued my interest in diving to begin with! I was so comfortable and had mastered the material enough that my first dive after my open water certification was an awesome night dive where we saw octopuses, king crabs, giant lobsters, a very inquisitive puffer fish, a bale of turtles and even a seahorse... just to name a few. Definitely diving a lot more with Dive Cabarete!!!!

Two great days of introductory freediving with Dive Cabarete. James is an extremely knowledgeable and patient instructor. He leads by example and makes the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Dive Cabarete arranged a round trip transportation from my hotel in Cabarete to Sosua. All equipment is in top shape. Organization, communication, payment etc. were a breeze. Highly recommend!

I recently just finished 8 dives with Dive Cabarete in Sosua, what a fantastic time!!! Nelson the Dive Instructor and Domingo the Captain of the boat were exceptional they insured my safety while keeping our dives to maximum fun. There is a whole world of beauty in the ocean that really can't be appreciated until you dive. Nelson and Domingo thank you for the many years together diving may we have many more.

Absolutely wonderful! Both of the managers of this shop were super nice and helpful with every question or concern we had. Unfortunately my partner took on some saltwater and it made him nauseous, but I still dove and had the time of my life feeling like a fish myself! It was the experience of a lifetime! Also they’re eco-conscious and friendly so that was nice too. 100% would do it again! They even offered to certify me if I had stayed in the DR long enough. Guess I’ll have to come back!!

I was certified in Open Water in Grand Cayman by a wonderful, professional dive shop, Ambassador Divers. I took my eLearning in Advanced Open Water quite sometime ago. Dive Cabarete assisted me without hesitation to contact PADI Headquarters to change my affiliation to them and signed me up to become an Advanced Open Water Certified Diver. This effort on their part is beyond exceeding customer/client expectations and I can't extend my appreciation enough to this team. I had probably experienced many of the Adventure Dives that were defined in the PADI manual but never got signed off. Remember Dive Cabarete is probably an accredited PADI dive shop and lives by the standard. If you go to the DR, are a certified diver please go to Sosua and contact Dive Cabarete early, online and book your dives. I performed and was instructed by this team in Advanced Open water and could not have been more satisfied and now have such a feeling of accomplishment. My night dive with Santiago was world class. He is a true instructor, conversationalist and cares more about your experience and safety than many I have been with. Octopus, lobster, crab, squid, OMG. What an amazing dive. Carolyn. Say no more. A pure naturalist, conservationist, professional, safety conscience and willing to accept nothing more than perfection. I have never dived with anyone more relaxed and environmentally conscience than Carolyn. She cares about your skills, your safety and your enjoyment more than any instructor that I have met. On par with Siggy in Grand Cayman that helped me with my original Open Water Certification. If you are lucky enough to dive with Nelson you will not be dissapointed at all. Thank you to Captain Castillo for getting to and from the dive sights safety!!! PLEASE. If you are in Sosua, DR, you are a certified diver, sign up early with Dive Cabarete. You will not be dissapointed.
