About
This beautiful 7,156-yard par-72 course stands out for the union of golfing passage with the tropical forest environment and its native flora. In this way, a challenging field of stunning visual beauty is masterfully achieved. The black outputs of the route are the most challenging. There is a difference of 936 yards between the white middle outputs (11-20 Hcp) and the black outputs (scratch golfer) - the perspective lines are very different and do not forgive.

The good - Course was empty, Was able to play 18 holes in 3 hours because no one was on the course except for catching up to a 2 some for the last 3 holes. Manuel my caddy was great found many of my stray shots or at least found another ball so I never ran out. Course is in decent condition not excellent, no special Caribbean views.
The Bad - Pro shop guy while trying to be nice does not speak ONE word of English. Makes figuring out what's going on difficult.
Rental clubs are pretty bad, and with the lack of communication your on your own to pick clubs and I inadvertently picked a set with a number of lefty clubs, luckily Manuel bailed me out and went back to get a full good set. Cart could have been newer with a parking brake that worked. SIgnature 13th hole with the much touted waterfall was a bust as waterfall was not functioning.

Hidden Gem!!!
A wonderful course to play. PGA level course designed by Gary Player with grand fairways, islands, and scenery.
Imagine a tourist dream without the tourist trap. Great service, a wonderful course, and a great time. And good holes without unnecessary thin fairways. Islands that you can reach if you shoot true.

The caddy was awesome. If I put a ball in the trees, he would come back with two . Every hole, he had the club for the shot ready. I have never had that in my life.

You may have trouble booking the course unless you contact them directly. Juan Dulio is learning to be a tourist trap again, but in the meantime in the meantime is a unblemished gem. The downside is that the amount of English spoken is not as much as some would like. But Guavaberry has strong English resources and is super helpful. They picked us up from the resort and dropped us off. Perfect.

As I said before, as hidden gem!

Guavaberry golf course is good, the greens and fairways are well maintained. However, the course lacks customer service from the time you check-in. I have played the course 4 times in the last 2 months and there is always an excuse for not having practice balls (even though they charge for the bucket). The gentleman that issues the carts is very condescending with cero respect for customers. Even though the course is decent, I will take my business somewhere else where the management supervises and train employees to take care of customers. There are many great gold courses in the Dominican Republic at the same price range.

Watch out if you are from outside of the country and visit this place, workers are really rude and overpriced everything after paid a lot of money they can't let us go because there was another charges we need to pay and never told us about it. If you not want to lose your mind avoid this place at all cost. Note: The way around every single hole is awful for driving the golf cars.

Although the golf course was nice, I would not recommend this place to anybody!. I tried to email to get information, no one answered. Tried to call the regular number and no one returned calls. The rental clubs were not up to my standards (Trip Advisor would not publish my first coments, could buy better at a canadian yard sale. At the end of the game, we had to pay the caddy $20 each, $60 total. My "fabulous" driver broke and they made me pay for it. They wanted $50...I gave them $20, only because I wasn't sure what a Dominican Jail was going to be like...Oh yeah, nobody spoke english! DON'T GO!

I think Gary Player might want to take his name off this course ASAP. At least 60% of the sand traps don't have sand and are home to some large horde of flying insect, the cliff and waterfall at the "signature" hole isn't working and the pond it is supposed to flow into is at 1/4 its intended depth, murky and gross. The caddy says sometimes they turn the fountain on for a couple of hours on weekends. Many greens have spray painted areas where you can drop your ball if you hit one of the bunkers that doesn't have sand. We were warned by the staff not to eat at the restaurant b/c the food is horrible (couldn't say b/c I took their word for it.) $85/round isn't super expensive but still - this place is in bad shape.

Guavaberry is a resort type of Golf course than has been recently "remodeled". The course is nice and challenging (I'm an 8 handicap). The landscape is well manicured and the green are in good shape. This is a course than most of the play comes from the local golfers. Caddies are limited and usually it's $20 per cart (2 people).

We had a great time. The course apparently has been recently remodeled. It was awesome--lakes, waterfalls, long greens, accommodating people. We went for their breakfast in the lodge--it was great and a bargain. There is lodging located on the grounds. We stayed at Casa del Lago, a small condo community a short walk from the clubhouse. An all around great time. It only rained one afternoon.
