We loved our stay in Cabarete beach. It was a very safe and relaxed area. They aren’t over populated with rowdy tourists. It was very relaxing and peaceful. I’d recommend for couples/friends or families. The beach itself has beach chairs for rent and some bars,...More

Long, winding, sandy windswept scenic beach of the most tropical variety. Not crowded most of the time though can get pretty busy when the wind is up and the kites are flying. Great for people-watching and all beach activities. There are plenty of restaurants, bars,...More

The beach and the water are lovely. Watching the kite surfers is also fascinating. The one negative thing I'd mention is that I found the beach goers not as physically attractive as at other locales I've been.

It's a nice beach with many bars and restaurants around! You get to see the hundreds of kite surfers from a distance and it's quite impressive! Been there a few times and didn't regret it!

The water was amazing, this was one of the best beaches i have traveled to, and it was very calm we even saw some people doing water sports in the ocean.

We spent a week in Cabarete with our adult kids and went to the beach during the days we weren't busy exploring around Puerto Plata. It's a nice beach with decent sand and very few rocks. There are many families with kids of all ages...More

Cabarete used to be a wonderful place but it has, sadly, gone way down hill. The beaches are dirty; completely full of litter. The nightclubs are excessively loud but at least they are all located in the same place so you can both avoid them...More

Super nice beach with lots of sun chairs, restaurants and bars to choose from. Lots of kiters to watch and a great place to people watch. Highly recommend!

Hello! Yes, Cabarete Beach is great for swimming. You will want to follow all of your common sense safety swimming rules, such as not swimming alone and being aware of rip currents.

If you're adventurous, do the waterfalls, but it's kind of a high thrill (as you will be required to jump off some cliffs) and there's a lot of walking involved. If not, both Sosua and Cabarete are great beaches, the main... More
