Our tour was a 3 day tour that was prepared for us, a group of 15. It was called "3-Day Short Break in Transylvania". The itinerary was prepared for us to include important sites in Transylvania. We departed from and returned to Cluj/Napoca. We visited Sighisoara, Peles Castle, Bran Castle, Brasov, and Rasnov Citadel. It was a very well laid out and informative tour. To set the tour up, I worked with Hertha, who was responsive and communicated very well. Our tour guide, Andrew, was very personable and knowledgeable. I recommend Transylvania Live. They were great to work with. I would suggest going to them to inquire about a custom tour if they don't list what you have in mind.

Oh my, where do I start?! Having been obsessed with Vampires since I was a child, to finally go on holiday to Transylvania and enjoy all that the Live Dracula Tours have to offer, was just a dream come true. I went there last Halloween (2014) with my husband and 13 year old son and we came back completely in love with the place. I'll try and list various high points as there was so much that if I wrote it all I'd be here forever!!

Transylvania
Completely stunning! The countryside is vast & dramatic, the cities & towns have architecture that take your breath away. All the people we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good and prices were very reasonable. Every hotel we stayed in was lovely and the rooms were absolutely huge!

3 day Dracula Tour
I can't fault anything at all, it was completely perfect. We were greeted by the wonderful Alin Todea who runs this company with his delightful wife Hertha. We were taken about on the tour in a comfortable minibus with a party of around 8 other English speaking visitors. With the minibus driver's calm driving and Alin's extensive knowledge & love for his country and it's history to keep us entertained, the tour was a complete joy.
All the stops were well thought out and a mixture of informative and entertaining. On the first day you visit the medieval town Turda where you are taken to Dracula's Restaurant and the most incredible themed room for lunch, to the beautiful, atmospheric city of Sibu, which will genuinely take your breath away at night. After an night there, you make your way to the stunning Bran Castle. Oh my - words fail me. Just what you expect it to be and then some and a visit that I will remember for the rest of my days. After that, you go on to Brasov and then make your way to Sighisoara for the pinnacle of the trip - the Halloween party in the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. I'm not exaggerating when I say that there was seriously no other better Halloween party going on in the world than what we were all at that night. The attention to detail was astonishing. The huge cellar that the party itself was set in was decorated and set up like something out of a Hammer Horror movie. Themed food, drinks, costumes and table decorations, interspersed by the most dramatic and exciting entertainment.
The final day is spent exploring Sighisoara by day before returning to your first hotel in Cluj-Napocja.
I higly recommend this trip, you will not be disappointed!

My father and I took a 10 day vacation to Transylvania that included a brewery tour, salt mines, motorcycle riding, biplane flight, dinner at Dracula's castle and tons of other adventures. Transylvania live customized the trip to our timing and travel preferences. We had a great guide, enjoyed amazing food, and loved the historic castle like cities. The best part of the trip was the medieval battle we that took place in our honor. Real sword fights and pure adrenaline. It was great to just sit outside and have a beer in a town square with my dad while people watching. I'd love to go back. Even the motorcycle ride was epic. On the last night the company had a feast and held a burial ceremony for killing a vampire which was awesome.

Transylvania Live did a fantastic job coordinating the trip. I'd highly recommend them if you are planning a trip to Romania.

Our recent tour of Romania with Transylvania live was fantastic. There could not have been a better group of people hosting us in the world. Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, focused on making sure we had a good time is just the beginning of it.

The party in Sighisoara was amazing. Well planned, highly entertaining, great group of people and the entertainers were awesome, very engaging. This team stayed up all night long to have fun and to make sure we had fun. The after party karaoke was unbelievable and it was not a show, it was just the group having fun and enjoying their guests company. I could not recommend a team, group, company any more than I could this one.

A VERY special thanks to Hertha and Alin!!

Hertha has been amazing fielding my emails for over a year and was an amazing host on the tour. Alin as our tour guide was, well, super human!! He was the most amazing guide ever and the amount of energy he had still amazes me. It was truly a joy to have him lead us!!

Thank you to the entire team!!

I really enjoyed this tour. There were only 10 of us, which made it much more intimate and friendly. If you are interested in Dracula (historical or fictional) this is the trip for you. It takes in all the sites associated with the legend, it's very well organized, and the guide is friendly and knowledgeable. It's really eye-opening when you go to see something first hand. I had no idea Transylvania was so beautiful. Highly recommended.

What great fun! This group has its act together. Our guide was knowledgeable and kept it interesting. The parties at Sighisoara and Bran Castle were excellent. It was a real plus to be there on the final weekend before Halloween.
The hotel accommodations were pretty basic, clean, and no doubt par for the locations.
From Bucharest, there is quite a bit of driving involved, but the countryside is interesting the vehicle was comfortable.

This is A MUST do in Romania! We seriously could not recommend Transylvania Live Tours. They organized every detail and they were on time, professional and courteous.

Even before our arrival they would answer every email and every one of my 1000 questions quickly and made sure we felt at ease as we had never visited Romania. Once we got there everything went perfectly well from start to finish. The Halloween parties are AMAZING and as a Halloween freak I can say I have been to quite a few. They also touched very well on their cultural traditions and made sure we learned about the historic sites. It was a great combination.

Only thing I regret is booking it for only 3 days, we got to see a lot and it was fantastic but if you have the time I would say try and stay longer. Romania is so beautiful and has so much to offer!

This was the VIP tour of all tours. The guide had a planned schedule daily but was not afraid to change the plan a bit to meet the needs and likes of his clients. The hotels were well planned and perfect. Restraunts were all wonderful as was the entire tour. Just can't say enough about this tour to even come close to just how fun and beautiful it was. We were spoiled for 4 days and will remember our tour and our guide George forever. This is a not to miss tour in a not to miss location.

In our three days with Transylvania Live we: saw the Carpathian Mountains and hours of absolutely stunning countryside scenery; made new friends; learned the history of places & people all around Transylvania from our incredibly knowledgeable & personable tour guide, Alin; and this was just what we did from the comfort of our lovely bus!

Other activities included visiting the Salt Mines at Turda which was fascinating; eating lunch surrounded by great theming at The Hunter Prince restaurant; seeing the famous Black Church in Brasov; visiting "Dracula's" Castle at night & then partying in the grounds, investigated the markets & a haunted fun house there in Bran the next day; enjoying beautiful views of Rupea as we walked around the citadel towering above; walked through a huge cemetery & up a clock tower in another citadel, in Sighisoara; and attended a private Halloween party.
The Halloween party was the highlight of the tour for us. Not only was it fun dressing up and relaxing away from the bus, but there was plenty of entertainment & we were well fed. All of the entertainment was well suited to the occasion, the ritual killing was actually one of the weirdest things we’ve ever taken part in (and we can be quite weird), we loved it!
The tour staff at the party looked after us very well, including us & cheering us on while dancing, nobody was left out. They took pictures with & for us and the competitions were great fun. Getting print outs on the night from the selfie booth was a great way of making sure we all had at least one decent photo of ourselves. We won't ruin the surprise for future visitors, but there were a number of little touches that someone out there put a lot of work into and we really appreciated the time & effort afforded there, it really added to the fun atmosphere in an already amazing setting.

We didn't have quite as much time as we’d hoped to get ready for the Friday night party (mainly due to traffic making us late), but we just about managed so it wasn’t a complete disaster and it certainly wasn’t something that would put us off booking this holiday again. Though perhaps we might start our make-up on the bus next time! In fact the only thing that could put us off is that no party will ever be able to live up to the standard we experienced here. We all agreed the private Halloween party was the best night out we've ever had! In terms of negatives, this is really all we have been able to come up with. We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday.

Our daughter was the only child on the trip as it's not really recommended as a "kids" holiday, but she is very mature 12 year old so coped with everything just fine & got on really well with everyone she chatted to. Nobody talked down to her & she felt like she was being treated as another adult, which added to the experience for her.

This little 3 day tour was a great way to try out a more inclusive / package type of holiday that we’re not used to, we've never been part of a tour group before, but we had a such a great experience with Transylvania Live that we would definitely book again and for longer now that we know what to expect. If you're thinking of going to Romania then we highly recommend you book a tour with Transylvania Live, they made it so easy to enjoy.
Big "THANK YOU!" to everyone who made this holiday so special!
