The shrine in the heart of Songkhla. It opens at 7 a.m. You should visit here and pay homage and ask for luck. It looks Chinese style mixed with local Thai. There are famous morning breakfast restaurant around here and there are a lot of dessert shops, too.

This is one of the only temples I visited where you are invited to join in the active praying, and get help and explanations as well.
It was a wonderful experience.

the historical ancient sacred place of Songkhla town,
this city Pillar has some specific characteristic that might be different from the other city in Thailand (usually, the city pillar will be implement individually in each province).
why?
refer to this specific Songkhla city pillar had been implemented exactly within the old ancient Chinese shine since the previous day.
hence, this city pillar implementation concept quite different compare with the other province. (it should be consider as Thailand Amazing place).
within the same vicinity, there is the old local small size school which has provided Chinese language lesson (probably the prototype of bilingual education system) for the Chinese families children for long time and still operate until today.
it would be great to visit this place during there has annual festival, enjoy Chinese opera shows during the night time, that is so impressive experience.

For a "taste of LOCAL CULTURE" this shrine recognises the original Chinese migrant population!! It is in the "Historic District"-- which is an interesting place as well! This is yet another example of Thailand's historical "welcoming spirit" towards immigrants!!

Located at a very narrow street filled with eateries, shops and other temples. Bright and colourful entrance. Temple is clean and well kept. There is a short history write up and pictures of the temple once you walk and a stage for events and performances. Across the stage is the actual main hall where all deities are. Coming from an Asian country, I have been to many similar Temples for a visit thus it was not must go for me but made a visit since we were in the area. It would be nice for tourist who have not been to an actual Chinese temple to have a feel of the actual atmosphere of a temple. The most interesting part of this temple trip was the little noodle stall which was beneath the stage. Did not try the noodles but it was captivating to see people eating beneath the stage in little benches. You definitely have to be able to bend low enough or duck walk to get beneath the stage and not forget at any point in time that you are below a stage (especially after a meal when you would automatically stand up after a meal to leave)

This visit is mainly for those interested in paying respects to the city shrine and who love Thai culture. There is a Buddha statue to which to pay homage (if you are Buddhist) otherwise not very comprehensible or remarkable for most western tourists. If you are not in the above category of visitor you can use that time to visit the other attractions that abound.

Quite disappointed by the size of the temple. The entrance does look grand and the place houses just a small shrine for worship

This is a small Chinese temple located in the centre of the Old Town district. There's not really that much to make it memorable or remarkable and if you've seen Chinese temples in other cities around the world you're unlikely to find this one that impressive. A quick visit is sufficient.

On of the oldest Chinese temple in Songkhla town.
Walk around the small lanes and admire the old houses under conservation............. You'll find many small localstalls selling local delicacies and foods. Great for photo taking buff.
