Definitely a good location for Burmese food and markets friendly atmosphere and different to most Thailand markets. If you want antiques or teak furniture and fittings this is the place to come . Bring your truck

Not worth making a special visit, but if going to the market at the border or crossing over to Myanmar, you could stop for a quick photo.

Its nice to have seen the friendship bridge. Sad to see the poverty of those living in the make shift huts. However, an experience to stop and see the bridge and the spot.

It's a border crossing where east meets further east so although looking chaotic it's organised chaos. Worth watching the boats going back and forth carrying locals from both countries bypassing the immigration on the bridge. I have seen this all over Thailand and its tolerated...More

This bridge crosses the Mekong between Mukdahan and Savanakhet. Not much to see but it is a long bridge that can not be crossed on foot. There is a bus that goes across and you can get that at Mukdahan bus station. 50 baht one...More
