Plenty of seafood restaurants here but the price is much higher compare to those you could find in or near to Sokcho town. I'd a seafood dinner here which is almost 5x more expensive than what i had in Sokcho market.

We walked back to Sokcho from Seorak Sunrise Park to the city and came across Daepo Port, which is also an area where there are any restaurants and a Ramada resort. Most of the restaurants sell raw fish, octopus, shrimps, crabs and shellfish. There are...More

The port area is quite small but packed with seafood restaurants. Tons of tanks with fresh seafood all over the place, simple restaurants, one after another. The prices range from restaurant to restaurant, often they offer only sets for 4 guests or larger groups, so...More

There is a very wide range of sea animals in tanks and you can choose whatever you like. We saw quite a number of dead fish in various tanks which was a bit off putting. You do tend to feel very sorry for the animals...More

My family doesn't speak Hangul, but we wanted to eat like the locals. We spent a pricy 150,000₩ to eat sashimi, crab and fish soup. The fish is caught right there in local waters, as is the crab. Can't get fresher. While the sashimi wasn't...More

Visiting Sokcho/Seoraksan/Daepo Port from Seoul (5 Replies)
Hi all, I'll be going to Seoul next week and am planning taking a day trip to Sokcho on a Sunday. Programme: Sokcho beach, Abai village, Seoraksan and Daepo port. How early should I leave Seoul if I want to be back that same day? Tentatively, I am thinking 8am departure and 630pm return. Doable? Also have a quick question wrt Daepo port, will I be able to get Sannakji (raw octopus) there? Thanks!

It takes 3 hours to Sokcho from Seoul. So round trip takes at least 6 hours. If you want to do all in a day, you better take earlier bus such as 6:30. There are buses leaving from Sokcho in the evening, so think about taking evening bus to Seoul. From Sokcho bus terminal Sokcho beach, Abai village and Daepo port are close. But to Seoraksan take a little more. Sometimes you got to take a taxi. Yes, at Daepo port, there are so many raw fish restaurants. You can try sannakji over there. I...More

Not all the places you have listed are in Seoul. I would say you need 2-3 days to see all the places you have listed which are actually in Seoul, then another day in order to take a day trip to Nami Island, Petite France and Chuncheon. To visit Seoraksan National Park, you should allow for an overnight stay in Sokcho. For Seoul, look for hotels in the Myeongdong-City Hall-Jongno areas which are close to the palaces and Insadong.
