강원도에서 가장 큰 수산시장. 굳이 회를 먹지 않고 구경만해도 좋다. 아침 시간 시장의 부산함과 활기참은 언제나 밝은 기운으로 가득하다. The biggest fish and seafood market in gangwon-do. This market has full of energy and brightness.

Interesting to visit.. for a prairie boy. Serve up 'freshly' right from tank to plate. No idea what kind of fish.. all in Korean. Area extremely crowded.. a term I use frequently about this visit. In fact crowds were a turn off.

A small city with a jumble of dozens (maybe hundreds) of charmless, low-end seafood restaurants along the harbor.

This sea side town is located on Korea's east coast. A popular site for Koreans it is an interesting place for non-Koreans as well.

You can enjoy the ocean vista and fresh ocean air. Walking along port you may watch as the fishing boats unload their catch and even purchase fresh (just off the boat) fish, squid, octopus or crabs in season.

Not in the mood to carry a wriggling octopus? You may visit the fish market stalls, pick out the fish of your choice and it can be delivered to one of the many small restaurants where it will be prepared and served to you for a modest serve charge.

If you are still looking for something to bring home, the main street is lined with shops selling various dried fish and Korean pickles.

A busy large operational port and fish market that sells both live and dried fish. Quite a sight but not for those who prefer to see their fish swimming in a beautifully lit aquarium. A little further round the coast is a small and more quaint port with a lovely coffee shop nearby. It is a great part of the coast to watch the waves crashing over the road.

We walked around the market and got to see the auctions taking place too. Then we walked through the main street lined with dried fish stores. I can't imagine how so many stay in business. This is a very interesting place to visit if you are nearby. Plus the food is delicious!
