Having trekked through Concordia 14 years ago, I have maintained links with our guide and a high altitude porter from Hushe. People are most friendly, open, enterpising, hard working used to tough and rough living.
This time too, we visited the area to explore natural beauty of the valley, also the organic - pasture-fed cattle clarified butter, buckwheat, seabuckthorn products, herbs that grow wild, mushrooms, lavender, wild thyme and connect with the people directly.
It is a very fertile valley. Residents grow for their own requirements and tend to cattle, yaks, cows, sheep and goats.
People are fond of music and dance. We were entertained by Hasan, who meantime has scaled the K2, to local treats.
