The three almost parallel valleys of Bomburet, Rombur and Birir are inhabited by the Kalashas, an Indo-European population that has nothing to do with the rest of the Pakistani population. The dirt roads to reach the three valleys are impressive, overlooking the river and very narrow. It is therefore advisable to bring an off-road vehicle with an experienced driver to reach them, bearing in mind that only in Bomburet and Rombur there is the possibility of staying overnight in a guesthouse.

We booked our tour through Pakistan Guided Tours by Maqbool Ahmad. He is best of the best tour operator & a Tour Guide in Pakistan.
We enjoyed the Joshi Festival. He has a good relation , friendship & contacts with mostly people in Kalash Valleys (Chitral) kPK province of Pakistan.
He took us in many homes to show their culture, they are very hospitable people. Maqbool's contact # is +92-333-4033331

Incredible Kalash valley the road to get there is not very easy but at the end you have a total change of scenery A haven of peace nestled in this green valley between the mountains there live the Kalash dressed in their very colorful traditional clothes. This people fight for to survive for their ethnic group they are only 3 or 4 miles away in the entire valley. Very hospitable, smiling, proud to show us their culture. This is the place to discover, incredible Kalash Valley, so don't hesitate for your next trip. The region is magnificent, I fell in love with it, Chitral, the inhabitants are very welcoming, respectful and tolerant. Discover the kings of mountain polo, the Chitralis.

If you like history and are curious about remote tribes/ethnic people, you might enjoy it. the views are nice but once there (outside of summer time and festivals) there is not much to see. the museum is nice and worth it, but that is about it. the road to get there is terrible and dangerous (get a local driver and jeep). it is long (2hours easily from Chitral each way) and for not much to see once there.

KALASH VALLEY RUKMU
Rukmu.is the most traditional of the Kalaha Valleys. Between Between the two main Villages of Grom and Balanguru more then Seventy percent are distinctly kalsha who follow their unique Culture , Rumboor is also the best place to find Homestays and stay with traditional Kalasha Family .who will give you an in depth look at their ways.
